I am looking for a good resource for Catholic history

I am a Catholic who teaches 8th grade religion class (PSR) in my parish. I am looking for a good, brief book, preferably with pictures, on the history of the Catholic Church. The only church history books I have found are form a Protesant perspective (heavy on the Reformation and the negative aspects of the Catholic Church).

Can anyone help me?

several textbooks series treat church history in 7th or 8th grade. Christ Our Life 8th grade text is excellent for that purpose (Loyola), Faith and Life has one year on church history, can’t remember if it is 7th or 8th, but that would be the gold standard.

Take a look at **Triumph: The Power and the Glory of the Catholic Church **by H. W. Crocker. No pictures and probably too advanced for your grades but it would be a very good reference for any teacher.
