What are some good titles on Church history, Church fathers, and Catholic or Orthodox theology? I am especially looking for books that can treat these subjects briefly without dumbing down the content too much. Anyone have a reading list for the possible convert that is somewhat intellectually driven and looking for this sort of education in a hurry?

Hello @JamesJr!

I would suggest the Bible. Oh, here it comes again!
Yeah, it is the Bible LOL! 😁 There’s no other book that I love to read during the pandemic. I’ve finished all the books out of my shelf! 😅 Vatican II urges all Christians to read the Bible rather than any other books and the Bible has an enormous collection of books.

😍 I love the Letters of Paul, Ruth, Hosea, Esther, Ruth, Job, Jonah, and OFC, THE FOUR GOSPELS! I’m not really a fan of Pentateuchs and Prophetical books but they’re great also. 💞

So Yeah! Those are the books that I read during the whole quarantine Aww! 😅
But I promise they are cool!

In my position of nearly being certain about converting to the Catholic Church, the Bible is even more wonderful to read. It feels so much more complete to me when read from the perspective of Catholicism or even Orthodoxy. It reads more naturally from that perspective rather than my former Protestant perspective. Thank you very much for your encouragement to read the Bible more because I have neglected sparing time for it.
