I am new.....

so I hope this is the right spot for this (the only excuse I have is being Texan), some of you will “understand” my request here, it has been a LONG time since I have been to a Catholic Mass (used to go to Catholic school, but 7th grade was a long ways off) anyway as some of you have read, I am in the Episcopal Church, it became a love-hate relationship, but with their support of Planned Parenthood (among about 2 dozen other things) I feel called to Rome, as an Anglican it should not be as foreign to me as someone coming from a non-Liturgical church. HOWEVER, as the morning draws closer, I find myself oddly nervous! My lovely Presbyterian wife will be with me for moral support, I have filled out a registration for RCIA for FR. K. I guess I would like Prayer that all goes smoothly for me tonight, I sleep well, I wake refreshed, I feel peace in the Church, that I have “the Peace that passes understanding”, that I “feel” Christ, my Savior in the Morning. Would love your Prayers! (Again if this is in the wrong spot, like I say I am new and I am Texan, so show grace.😉 )Pax.

I wanted to add this, ask the Lord to Bless this week for me, I am sure the Priest will want to meet with me again and this week would be PERFECT for me! Pray God gives me words of wisdom, as I explain to Fr. K. why I can no longer (with a clear conscience remain in the Episcopal Church), though with the massive membership loss over the past few years I am sure he will be understanding. Grace and Peace.
 
A beautiful request to read - many of us have been called, and are being called to swim the Tiber to Rome.
If you meet with the priest again, try not to be anxious about it. He is there as your guide, not as your judge (and the same when you make your first Confession).
How wonderful that your wife will support you through this!
I have a love for the RCIA program, and its participants, having been through the process myself.
You are being called into the Ark, into the true body of Christ, how wonderful that you are responding.
When you have the time, look up some of the early church fathers, and you’ll see why many of us have left the denomination world - we love Christ, and He gives us the truth. An excellent website is the newadvent.org, a work of Kevin Knight, God bless him.
You will be held close in prayer and love.

That is VERY sweet. It is JUST what I need to hear right now! I know at a heart level I am doing the right thing, sometimes you just get stupid thoughts that jumble up everything!

Thank you kindly! Glad you “know” Glorfindel.🙂 Actually, the whole mythology that is Tolkien’s Middle Earth, RESONATES with his deep Roman Catholic ethos, I loved Tokien’s works from a very early age, perhaps a certain part of me has always been Catholic.

God is calling you and your family to the true Church.
Like my brother told my husband before he became a catholic. What do you want, a God made religion or a man made religion? My husband chose the God made religion the Catholic Church, The Holy Spirit had enlighten him, my husband was a Morman Minister prior.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers and ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten you.
