It makes me sad when some non catholics state that catholics are not christian. We may not agree with everything non catholics believe, but we are christian, and we follow the bible. Expect me not to be drawn into an argument.

I feel sad for non-Catholics. Imagine how suprised they will be when they get to heaven only to find out that the Church they found fault with was actually His Church?

There are christians who state catholics are not christian? I never knew this before. What basis can they possibly have to make that statement?

I feel happy for anyone who makes it to heaven. All will forgive and All will be forgiven.

So true. I’m just saying that it’s unfortunate that non-Catholic Christians spend their lives in Churches that preach against His Church. For me, becoming Catholic has been a bit like being in Heaven on Earth. At every mass I kneel before Jesus. How sad that non-Catholics don’t get to experience that.

It doesn’t make me sad to hear them say we aren’t Christians. It makes me feel sorry for them. Look at what they are missing?!!!

👍 Feeling sad for youself about it is a little like feeling sorry that someone says you don’t have the prize when you know you do. Why feel sorry for yourself? It is he who is missing out. So who cares what he who is too blind to see the truth thinks about the truth? Why be hurt by that opinion as if his opinion affects the truth of your position?

It makes much more sense to feel sorry for him.

The church in Heaven does not have a label so this statement makes no sense. I think everyone including Catholics may be surprised by how wrong they were with some of their beliefs. We’ll also be very surprised as to who actually ends up in Heaven. Pleasantly surprised is my prayer and hope.

The Church in Heaven… is it not Universal?

It is universal in the sense that there are no boundaries for age, race sex, etc. But the church is not labelled as “Catholic” the way we know it here on earth. In the sense of it being universal every Christian belongs to it no matter what denomination. You made the statement that when non-Catholics get to Heaven they will be surprised to see it was the church they found fault with. I disagree with that. I think we will all be surprised to find that some or many of our beliefs are wrong.

No. Catholics are in the Universal church of Jesus Christ. Jesus called the church “Universal” meaning all people belong to that, the Catholic church. It is open for all members. My priest starts every Mass saying “Let us pray in God’s Universal church.”

Then you believe that all Churches have fallen short in their understanding of God? If that is so the gates of hell hath prevailed over God’s Church on earth. At least say the Lutheran Church has it right, that why Christ’s words to Peter wont be wrong and thus a false prophecy.

Yes, it is quite saddening when people call the Church the “whore of Babylon” and “pagan” and all that. But, we must stand strong. We know that we are part of God’s One True Church, and that nothing can bring it down.

The Christians were accused of not being monotheist in the early Church. The Christians today are accused of not being Christian enough. It is an old accusation. We must follow Jesus.
