Dear friend, all of us struggle with one sin or another. Don’t be ashamed.

Prayer to Halt Smoking

O Mary, conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Through the grace of your purity,
may this unclean habit cease.

From the stench of smoke, the foul taste in our mouths,
the stains on our hands and teeth, Pray for us.

From coughing and phlegm, from polluted blood,
from heart and lung disease, Pray for us.

From habit and slavery, Pray for us.

From tension, fear, and anxiety, Pray for us.

For health and calm and peace, Pray for us.

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that,
by Christ redeemed, we choose to live in purity.

Jesus, Lover of chastity,
Mary, Mother most pure,
and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin,
to you I ask at this hour,
begging you to plead with God for me.

It is tough,I know, but you can overcome this. Remember that confession is for us when we fall down. The way to defeat pornography is to cut off it’s source. If you can’t do that then work to replace it with something else. I know it’s easier said that done. By far the best fix is intimate prayer, especially the Rosary. Learn to say one Rosary a day and work on saying a full Rosary which is all 4 mysteries per day. This sounds hard but if you start by taking that first step you will take another step. It will be tough and you might fall a few times but keep it up and you will recover.
