The title says it all.
This is too mentally and emotionally tiring for me.
Yesterday I did some soul searching in this regards and concluded this is tiring for me because really this is not something God has called me to do.
And it really was not my intent coming here.
My intent in coming here is that it is not enough for me at this point in my life to be what I am simply because “well that is what I am”.
So I set upon the course of wanting to learn more about other parts of Christianity. Who knows, maybe they have something to offer me that being totally ignorant I am not taking advantage.
So since you guys claim to have started it all, I figured you guys would be a place to start.
So I came here.
I chose my screen name because my intent was not to convert you all.
However I realized this process of learning more could also lead me to getting off the track if I happened to swallow something that is untrue. So I determined that if I encountered anything that new that I would “Examine Everything Carefully, Hold Fast to that which is Good” (1 Thess 5:21).
My method of doing this is to ask myself and others a lot of stupid questions.
So maybe I have come across here as overly argumentative. That has not been my intent, and I am sorry I have given that impression.
Now even though I am not persuaded that you all are the one true church, I do consider myself having been enriched from this experience.
(1) I never was a raging “Catholicism is from the pits of hell” type. However I have encountered this. I am now more sure than ever that this is wrong.
(2) I appreciate the way that you all attempt to base your beliefs on historic Christianity. Although I am still not convinced in many ways, I have come to believe this is preferable to following your latest Christian fad du jour that I see today.
(3) I have come to believe that it is possible that many of your beliefs (although I still do not buy into them) are not as farfetched as they have seemed and might be somewhat close to what I do believe in.
(4) And there are some of your beliefs although I am not there yet, I am more open to (example real presence).
However, I also think I have somewhat of an unhealthy addiction to arguing over the internet. This is pointless. It is time to get back into the real world.
So before I change my mind, I am going to change my password to something very trivial that I will forget in 10 minutes. And then I will logoff.
