I am With You Book

Has anyone come across this book by Fr John Wooley? You can see it here

For those who don’t know its written by a priest as a book of ‘inspirational prayer’ based on ‘whispers in the heart from Jesus’ and its a mainstay with catholic charasmatics.

I have a couple of problems with it:

1)Firstly despite the quotes from bishops and priests praising it, it has no imprimatur or nihil obstat
2)It doesn’t appear that these ‘whispers’ have been verified or investigated by the church whatsoever
3)What on earth are ‘whispers to the heart’? The church has only ever recognised apparitions and mystic messages not ‘whispers’ to the heart. It seems quite odd If I’m honest.

I was just wondering what others thought?

I don’t know the book, but here is what I found online: Fr. John A. Wooley was an Anglican priest, husband, father and grandfather. He was not Roman Catholic, so his writings would not be submitted to the Roman Catholic Church for approval.

“Whispers to the heart” may refer to what Catholics would call inner locutions. In the Catholic Church, I believe these also must be submitted to the local bishop for review.
