There are those who try to imply that they are theologians, and those who may be but express ideas which may go against current Catholic teachings. Everrybody has an opinion. Some feel that the Catholic Church has rules which are not based on the teachings of Jesus. Some feel that the Church needs to be brought up to current times. Still others see a need for change in the doctrine. Some are still faithful in every aspect of the current teachings. One thing which seems to remain constant is the passion to which all may exhibit in the expression of these beliefs. There are some here who just get a kick from stirring the pot of discontent. Others are here who lurk and laugh silently. Still there are others who are seeking the truth. We must treat all with the respect and dignity which we like to be treated, knowing that these opinions have been expressed for centuries albeit not through this type of media. I believe that is why this type of forum exists so people can share their ideas and learn from the viewpoints of others. Everything requires discernment. After a while we learn who belongs in their specific category. My condolences go out to the monitors who have to endure all of the rhetoric and verbosity and predjudice while doing their job. Their job is to guide us when we go astray from the posting rules, yet to also love the poster as God loves us. We are all children trying to find our way. Some of us never really grew up. Some of us are still in the process. Yet this forum is really no different than a cross section of humanity. So there may be imposters, and I am sure there are many here. “To thine own self be true.” Yet, what can be done for them except to pray for them? That is the the only power you have - to pray for others and to not let the immaturity of others influence your Christian charity and serenity.
