Thanks to the person who gave me the website of “Miracles of the Eucharist”!!!

When I saw those photos and read more on it, I suddenly had this fear!!! And I mean, real fear! 😦 I was in college when I read it (but I got my work done too!) and I was full of fear (was tense, etc.) and was for the rest of the day and evening. I couldn’t eat, concentrate on other stuff, was trembling almost, very tense, etc…the only thing I could think about was what I saw and read about.

But I prayed that this fear would go away but if it was God’s will that I experience it, then I prayed that don’t take it away, something like that.

Is feeling the way I did a normal reaction or something?

But now I realize that it was for the good of me. Why? Because now I BELIEVE that miracles in the Eucharist CAN happen…I’m convinced! 🙂 It was like I was given this supernatural sense of things can be possible! In other words, no more disbelief from man, etc. it was amazing.

Maybe I should say this IS something wrong with me! :o

I’d like to see this “Miracles of the Eucharist” website… what’s the address?

I wasn’t aware that you had doubts about the miracle of the Eucharistic before… You’re currently in RCIA, right, or am I thinking of someone else alltogether?

Paris, There is nothing wrong with fear. There is something wrong with irrational fear though. You seem to have fear because you were blessed to finally understand that Jesus Christ IS IN The Eucharist. I think God gave you that. We see God in many different ways. I see the Trinity in the clouds, the birds and in the night sky.

So you had some fear, thats good. God may just have been getting “your attention”. Now that you believe in transubstantiation, the other spiritual truths shoud be easier. Hey, aren’t computers wonderful.

Take a look: therealpresence.org/eucharst/mir/a3.html

I looked online too at more websites but I’ll put them down later.

Yes, RichSpidizzy, I am in RCIA.
👍

Psalm 111:10 says “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; prudent are all who live by it.”

You have been truly blessed to experience the profound power of God. There is nothing wrong with you for realizing how powerless you are before the awesome might of the Lord. I recall something from C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia regarding the King. One of the children asks “Is he safe?”. The reply is, “Safe!? Of course he isn’t safe!! But he’s good.” Take hope and joy that you have friendship with God, because while His wrath is terrible, His mercy endures forever.

I think these revelations have less to do with any preexisting doubt than with a very human inability to comprehend the mystery of transubstantiation – a supernatural occurrence. What Paris is describing is an epiphany of sorts, a sudden and powerful sense of the reality of the Eucharistic miracle. Some people never fully experience this. We accept it because we assent our will to the teachings of the Church. Sometimes people receive evidence of the supernatural for a reason, and it strengthens their faith. For others, such things are impossible to believe, but they pray for belief and assent to the Church’s teachings.

Yes, I have been praying to believe that Christ is truly present and to believe that miracles can happen, though at that time I had a hard time believing so I prayed anyway to believe! And I got the results!

I mean, if you look at something - a photo - of something impossible (may not have anything to do with religion), fear is NOT going to sweep over you but what I saw and read, etc. gave me fear, awe, tenseness, etc. but the good thing about that was it got me to believe!

It seems to bring fear when something IS possible!

You mean, there’s something wrong with me not concentrating, eating, even sleeping, etc. Is that what you meant?

Paris Blues:
So was this fear normal than?
A powerful realization of the Divine is bound to cause some disruption in our lives, particularly when it happens for the first time.

So basically, yes, though supernaturally speaking, right?

No dear, this is something very, very right. I’m very happy for you.

 EUCHARIST, EUCHARIST, EUCHARIST!!

That’s great Paris! Thanks for the site. I’m also one of those who, although could understand intellectually in transubsitaion (or however it is spelled! :D), I was having difficulty in actually believing in it in my heart.

Guess just like St. Thomas, some of us still need some physical/visual evidence to help in our belief. It’s such a blessing that our Lord is so understanding and patient with those of us who initially have a hard time with beleiving in the Real Presence.

Paris,

I’m so happy for you and what you have experienced. I had a similar experience, although for me it was on the subject of Fatima. I was reading some stuff on the Internet, when it hit me like a wave and I knew, I absolutely KNEW that it was real and that all she asked was true.

It also disrupted my life for a short period and from that time forward, I have been a different person. I am absolutely, unabashedly Catholic, in a way I never was before. For a while I didn’t have any idea what to call it, when a friend of mine from another parish put it succinctly for me “it’s cool to be devout, huh!”. That was what had happened, I’d suddenly, in an instant become devout.

Fear of the Lord hit me like a ton of bricks a few months later, but that’s another story.

Isn’t the reality of God GREAT! 🙂

It’s very GREAT! Though I was reading about it again last night and I suddenly felt fear sweep over me again. I prayed again to have it go away but if it was what our Lord wanted me to experience for awhile, then I would take it.

No doubt when you feel real fear like I did, that our Lord is very powerful!
👍 I didn’t realize how powerful He is (well, I knew He was but until you actually “feel” it, it makes you in awe. It humbled myself.
