Marilena,

Thank you for posting your story. I am so glad you came out of the JW’s.

I would hope that more Catholics would read and learn about their faith more so they are not so easily intimidated by others that have false beliefs. There is definitely a lot of spiritual warfare going on out there, and we need to be armed with much prayer as well as good instruction.

I am so blessed and grateful to be a Catholic. Nothing, but nothing can compare with the Holy Mass, the source and center of our life of grace. We definitely don’t have to be concerned about getting blood transfusions. In the Mass we receive the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Praise be to Jesus in the Eucharist!

Peace,

Dorothy

You were probably kinder than some. Don’t forget, they were pushing themselves on you. When I was little, I still remember my dad’s response: “Thanks. I needed some fire starter.”
LOL! Dad would say something like that! 🙂 That’s funny! 🙂

Thanks Dorothy! I’ve been officially out of that religion for 6 and a half years. Even my ex who’s parents are JW’s told me NOT to
bet involved with them. Especially just to try to keep the peace with his family, and to try to be accepted. I celebrated the holidays and birthdays anyways, despite the fact that I was a
baptized witness. I just couldn’t quit celebrating the birth of our Dear Lord Jesus! I always remembered my beloved mother telling me NOT to get involved with them, and I finally listened to her!
Thank God! It took 10 years to listen, but I did. I became a JW
for all the wrong reasons, to be accepted and liked, and to try to keep the peace with his family. I didn’t do it because of a deep seated belief in it, but because I wanted to be liked by his family, but they knew we were Catholic, and they hated us because of it.
So, when my marriage ended, I got out of it once and for all, and
I made my first ever Rosary for my mom in 1997 ( I said officially got out in '99 as I wrote them a letter and terminated my membership with them ) I left in 97, and was so relieved you would never imagine! I told mom, " mom, your right! " she was!
Imagine how teary eyed mom got when I sat on the couch, and she gave me an old crucifix that was part of a Rosary I had as a child ( I do not recall that, but she does ) and I put it on the Rosary I made for her, and she just looked at me and had tears in her eyes! I was so moved at her reaction, I thought, “why didn’t you listen to mom years ago” ? I was really terrified of the JW’s after I left! My ex friend even went so far as to come looking for me
as she told me when we met again 2 years later, that she didn’t understand why I left. I just told her it wasn’t for me! She tried twice to get me to come back, and I refused. You know what? Across from my duplex is a kingdom hall! Every morning I look
out my kitchen window and there it is! Sheesh! It reminds me of all the pain I suffered when in that religion, the back stabbing, the
making fun of my Catholicism, and attacking my family’s heritage, ext! I am constantly reminded of the sadness I suffered, and how I stuck up for my family, and our Catholicism, ext. ( incidentally, our family is British- Irish-German-Italian, and my mom looks
like she’s native, and she is not, but my ex father in law made fun
of her ( he’s never even met her ) because he thought she was native 😦 And my ex brother in law did a rain dance once in a public restaraunt making fun of our family 😦 I told that family time and again we were not native, and even if we were, what would it matter? 😦 I suffered so much humilation at the hands of these
people, and they call themselves God’s Witnesses? NOT. I moved into this duplex because it is a good deal on rent, but guess what?: We are moving out! Thank God Almighty Everlasting!
thanks for your lovely reply Dorothy! God bless you!

Thanks for more on your testimony Marilena! Don’t be concerned about the time it took you to come back to the Catholic Church. That is what “time” is for…for the Good Shepherd to find His sheep! Just keep moving forward with the Lord!

God bless you too!

Peace,

Dorothy

st julie:
For about 3 years I have been getting watchtower magazines. Rarely did I see the person. I’d just find them in my screen door. About a year ago a new lady figured out my schedule and would catch me before I went to bed in the morning. She was never interested in talking much. About May I told her I was not interested in getting any more magazines. Then last week someone new came and I reacted poorly. I told her that I would never allow a watchtower magazine in my home again. That they were so negative that I got depressed reading it. I said that whoever wrote the articles were very poor researchers or deliberate liars. The articles use any slander, negative adjectives and misinformation to tear down everyone else. Furthermore they use the positive adjectives for Jehovah Witnesses and it is often followed by a list of vices to be overcome.
I felt a bit ashamed after for I had been practicing for years a kind response, although I had never been able to get a word in egdewise.
A lot of people get mad when Jehovah’s Witnesses come knocking. But this should be seen as an oppritunity to share your faith. 👍
