I go to a chapel on a military base that is also used in protestant worship(at differant times). I’ve looked on the base’s website but i can’t find anything about times for confession.
And another question: I read about general confessions for people who have either never been to confession, or haven’t gone for a long time. I’ve never really been to confession (except for when i was like 8 and my sunday school took me to teach me about it), so would i need a general confession? What would be differant in a general confession than a normal one?

I would contact your base chaplain’s office and ask for the Catholic priest. It may be that he takes confession by appointment, this happens a lot on some smaller bases. Also, you could always check in the nearby town for a parish that has a regular confession schedule.

If you haven’t been in awhile, I would suggest making an appointment anyways so that you and the priest have some uninterrupted time to talk about things.

If you contact the priest I’m sure he would be very happy to hear your confession.

General confession is when you confess all of the sin of your life, or at least all the sins you have committes since your last general confession.

Regular confession is when you confess the sins you have committed since your last confession.

You should contact the priest and schedule a time to make a general confession. Then be sure to get in the habbit of going to confession each week. This will help your spiritual life greatly.

Good luck.

Am i allowed to do this all on my own if i am a minor? And do i need to do something to get membership to another church in order to go to confession there? And USMC, just in passing, it’s a marine base i go to.

Presuming that you can organise transport etc to get to the church or the priest then you can do the rest yourself. And no you don’t need to be registered with any particular church or parish to attend Mass or confession or any other activity there.

Weekly confession may be a little often to start with - every two weeks or every month should be OK (unless you find yourself falling into mortal sin more often than that).
