I feel guilty for my word. I mean saying something louder or saying something like my opinion but then thinking that it may have been inappropriate.

Me too.

Sometimes it helps to say sorry and move on, we fall, dust ourselves off and continue the journey.

🙂

But sorry sir
I mean when something wasnt sinful but it was
Im really sorry. You may have misunderstood. Dont get nervous on me.

If you go to mass we confess venial sins at the beginning and ask for forgiveness and receive forgiveness during the mass.

If it’s a serious sin then you need to see a priest, if you’re not sure if it’s serious I mean a mortal sin then ask your priest during confession.

Until you can get to confession pray to Our Father telling Him how sorry you are and asking for Gods forgiveness until you can get to confession.

Peace be with you, God bless.

Separate guilt from mistake. Was your word unwise? Then learn and strive for wisdom. Was your word unkind? The strive for more kindness. Was your word unfriendly? Then strive for friendliness.

Separate guilt from passion or feeling. Is there guilt? Or did it just make you feel bad?! Because for guilt there should be some damage, to yourself or someone - or offending God.

If no damage was done, then don’t feel too sad over imperfection, nor guilt for no harm done.

Be joyful and be at peace.

I mean I am afraid to say anything because it could hurt someone. For example someone says something. I say opposite thing about that but then I feel bad because maybe I shouldnt say that and I apologise for example someone says that cleaning the drivetrain in your bicycle doesnt affect the gearing but I say that it does and should be done because dirt is bad for those parts and then I feel maybe I shouldnt say that? Or someone is wrong about a case and I tell them what is right. I mean right in terms of science or common sense. I try to do that gently, not by laughing them off or getting irritated. I tell gently my words but I always try not to be so confident and I always add that I am not sure. It gets on my parents nerves when I apologise them every time.
Sorry if it is too much for you, I dont want to sound prideful. Ive just gave an example of something and including the fact that Im keen on bike mechanics, I give the example that has really happened. Sorry

Bicycle. Its rather used bike to refer to cycling like road bike, mountain bike. But maybe be confussing

I understand that you do not want to offend anyone in voicing your opinions or views, and that’s a nice and respectful thing to think. But we are also called to evangelize and help out people and because we have free will, we are also suppose to support good ideas and give people suggestions.

So while you may feel you are offending someone, it is good to offer suggestions or your opinions on things. I understand what you mean though, I myself have some trouble with this. Especially when I talk to women, I often afterwards think about how the conversation went and over-analyze it and then start to feel bad because maybe I messed up saying something (I’m not really good talking to women haha).

So don’t feel worried, if you aren’t intentionally trying to hurt other people’s feelings then it is fine. But it is also good that we are aware of how others may feel and we should not say something that we know will hurt someone’s feelings. But offering a suggestion or being critical of someone isn’t a bad thing, it’s constructive criticism which is helpful and good

I have to admit that when I worry this may happen, I fall back on its being what someone else said.

Like in your cycling example, I might say, Wow, your bike must be different from mine. My manual says X and I find that its really helpful to do that.

That way it is less personal, iyswim.

Otoh, sometimes people might express a strong political or religious opinion with which I disagree. I figure if I say something that disagrees, its all right because we are being equivalent in our actions.

This does not mean I always speak up, because sometimes it would cause mode trouble than it’s worth, without really helping anyone.

You’re being overly scrupulous, and fearful about human opinion. Let the truth be your guide, let your yes be yes and your no be no, to the greatest extent that you can, rather than trying to please everyone. In that way you’ll be aligned with God’s will. Being nice isn’t the same as being right or good.

Bicycle is beautiful, excellent sport for mind and body. Some of the fittest amateur athletes I have met were bicycle enthusiast. Keep with it, don’t never quit on your bike!

I don’t really have a filter, sometimes things come out that I don’t feel are offensive, but the societal norms, for whatever reason feel they are. I think intention may be the issue here, are you actually trying to be hurtful?
