I’ve posted at least once on here about my faith journey and whilst I came from a Christian background in any case, I wandered away from it as it felt alien to me and I had issues with it. Cue a lot of wandering.

Skip forward to probably only two weeks ago and suddenly I just dived into catholic stuff big time. Christianity is now not for me a chore or a burden but I feel probably happier than I ever did with it. I prayed my first rosary two days ago and felt a great sense of peace with it. Reading the Bible in a Catholic light has turned what was once for me something difficult into something which is now a pleasure. I’ve also delved into various videos, podcasts, sermons and the like and I can’t get enough!

Now if only I could get up the courage to go to church…😦

I’m glad to see you have such a strong interest in Catholicism. There is nothing that should hinder you from hearing Mass, ask God for the courage and He will grant it to you.

That’s great! 🙂 I’m a convert myself. I encourage you to visit Mass, and maybe Eucharistic Adoration ? 🙂
catholic-church.org/kuwait/eucharistic_adoration.htm. It might be even easier to start with Adoration, as people just pray there individually and silently in any way they want, so no one would notice you’re visiting 🙂 but at Mass, honestly no one would mind, and don’t worry about knowing the responses for now!

Get to mass! My first mass was so stunning! I didn’t see a bunch of people doing silly gestures trying to look pious. I saw a unity, a body, the body of Christ worshipping in a communion. It was, and still is, glorious.

Wonderful news. Now as for going to Church… You are obviously afraid of the journey. Completely understandable given the traffic, congestion, etc. First step, get in the car, second, turn the ignition. You will get the hang of it! LOL Why be afraid? Only a loving God is there to welcome you. Don’t run before you can walk. Go when you are ready, and enjoy the real journey. What a good choice in picking the Rosary as a first step! Fell into His first trap of beginning a relationship with His beloved Mother. You are a goner. My poor sad prayers are with you. God Bless.

Find a catholic and ask them to go with you, if you feel timid in some way. God bless you on your journey.🙂

Thank you everyone!
So nice to hear how happy you are!

Why do you feel you need “courage” to go to church? Does something about church frighten you?

Just like everything else you discovered, try to experience it as a pleasure, yes?!

.
Everytime I want to go to church, something just stops me in my tracks. I don’t know what it is, but it seems no matter how hard I try I keep getting blocked from going, I plan to go to an early service, I sleep in. I plan to go to an evening service, I end up doing something else. I plan to go to the big cathedral in my hometown when visiting, I mess up and miss it. It’s frustrating…

The rosary seemed to be a logical step, it is something I can do easily privately.

As to church, I’m just going to have to take the plunge.
Praying for you to have the courage to go to church.
Thank you!

This is all wonderful!

Do you have any Catholic friends who would take you to Mass and be your personal resource?
