Hey everyone, I randomly found this website and I feel that maybe it will help me. I was raised in a very religious Catholic family, but I myself do not feel spiritual enough. I’ve been a very sinful catholic, and I honestly do not feel any faith in this. I want to be a good Catholic, but I don’t know how and even if I did, I’m not truly feeling it. If you have any suggestions or anything, that would be helpful. Thank you.
Stefania,
We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, yes?. St Paul told us that and he was a very good Catholic, was he not? He told everyone He could about Jesus and how He could save them and they beat him many times for saying so. He wouldn’t stop telling everyone he could though. Even the Roman guards chained to him heard the gospel day and night. The emperor Nero thought he could shut him up and so he had him beheaded. But here we are 20 centuries later and he, as well as countless other saints, still speak of the love beyond all loves. That Sacred heart of the Lord Jesus is the lover of my soul and your soul. Who do you know that would die for you? Who would take your punishment for every wrong you have ever done but the One who loves you? Jesus told us, ’ “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.” “All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out.” - John 6:35, 37.
So Stefania it is the love of God who sent His Son to bear our sin and shame at very great expense in order to redeem you and to give your heart a new birth in Him. Through your faith in Him you come to Him. There is no greater love story than this. Stefania, It is for this very reason you were born. Let the miracle of your birth then result in an even greater miracle - your birth in Him. The possibilities in Christ are as endless and deep as His love.
Rom 3:20-25
For no human being will be justified in his sight by works of the law, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from law, although the law and the prophets bear witness to it,
the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction; since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by His blood, to be received by faith.
Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”
John 6:28-29
We cannot but love Jesus with all our heart once we know His heart. May God bring you good courage to persevere in faith. We all need each other’s encouragement to walk with Him in this world.
