Had a very interesting dream last night.
I think in my dream I had died.
I don’t specifically remember how, or the process itself, but in my dream
I was just aware that I had died.
I was with a lot of other people, and we were living in some kind of communal
dwelling. We were very happy and peaceful.
None of these were people that I knew or had known, and we were just “hanging out”.
I did not recall that I missed any of my loved ones I currently know, but felt an
equal love for these “strangers”.
I remember that the surroundings we were in were not earth-like, but it was very
beautiful anyway. You know in dreams you can’t remember physical specifics, it is
(was) more of a “feeling” than anything visible to the eyes.
I just know that wherever we were, it was not solid ground, but it was very beautiful.
I do recall, however, that the universe was visible to us. I have an impression of
looking at the moon, or something very much like it.
The implications were of Purgatory to me when I woke up, since God was clearly absent.
I remember having discussions about the absence of God with some of the other
souls I was with, and in speaking with one very nice woman, she told me that everything
was going to be ok, and I remember she told me that "I am free to do as I please, and
be at peace, that the time will come when we will be in God’s Presence.
This was a very lovely dream, and you can bet I will be pondering it tonight as I nod
off! I know a dream is just a dream, but to me it means that in heaven, the “Community
of Saints” means just that…we will love everyone equally, just as much as the people
we love today. (since I was not missing my lovely wife or daughter).
Also, my guilty self thinks that if this truely WAS a glimpse of Purgatory, I was selfishly
glad that there was no pain or physical suffering involved.
I just thought I would throw this out, I felt very happy when I woke up.
