So I swore to the Bible that I wouldn’t do something, but a while ago I read a passage in scripture that said you shall not swear to God for He is you creator and and so on with the things precious to us. I’m sorry I don’t remember which is this passage but what I’m asking is, is it a sin to swear in General? If it is, how would you be able to promise something making it believable to others?

Always keep your promises and no one will have reason to doubt you. Don’t make promises you don’t intend to keep.
