I have some Questions

Listen I gave you a reasonable explanation as to why I referred to you (ie the attitudes of people here).
Reasonable is not an inaccurate statement that the only thing the Catholic Church has done throughout its history is persecute people:
it’s because the Catholic church has done nothing but persecute people
That is both highly offensive and equally inaccurate. If you wanted to show me reason you could have done better than a knee jerk reaction such as this.
Then, ironically, you still resorted to making an (implied) anti-Protestant statement by insinuating that I was the one with a problem.
Please show me where I have done this. To my memory I made no such comment about Protestants and if I did I would certainly apologize for having done so.
You can’t quote me there, try to make me look like a hypocrite, and then say you’re not trying to make look bad. Because, frankly, that would make you hypocritical.
Again I am sorry if you think these are my intentions. For some reason you are not accepting my apologies but I offer them anyway.

All you and I have done is thrown this thread off topic. I clarified my original statement. I am sorry if what I originally said did not mean what you thought it did. 🤷

God bless

No, it’s cool, of course I accept your apologies. I get what you meant with your initial comment and I acknowledge that I misconstrued you.

Admittedly, I generalized with that statement about the Catholic church doing nothing but persecute people…but in the context of this forum, surely you can at least see some persecution going on? Or maybe you just ignore it because your not on the end of it?

Honestly, for a church the prides itself so much on history, you sure have strange ways of ignoring the inconvenient parts. Catholics have been responsible for more persecution throughout history than any other church. That’s not meant to be offensive, I’m just stating a historical fact and it still continues to this day. Why would I just make it up? Surely I do feel discriminated against here? I don’t lie or exaggerate about things like that.

If you were on a Protestant board, I’m guessing you would have similar “knee jerk” reactions; it’s only natural.

I say you made an anti-Protestant remark (in directly, I might add) because you implied I had a problem for viewing you the way I did. The way you said it, implied to me, that all people in my position would react that way. That we were somehow inherently biased or narrow-minded.

If you had just said what you initially meant with more detail, I wouldn’t have come to that conclusion in the first place–hence why said conclusion was used.
