I hurt my husband

One day last week, during a certain time of the month, I totally went off on my DH. I’m not going to make excuses. I was a total *****. I was being immature, petty, and mean. I knew it, and I did it anyway. He called me on it, rightfully so. I have apologized multiple times, and he says he forgives me and has forgotten about it, but I still feel terrible.

My husband is so good to me. I’ve gotten more unconditional love from him than almost anyone else in my life, including my parents. I get more unconditional love from my husband than I ever did from my parents. If he ever did anything wrong to me, it was merely the result of poor judgement or something unintentional. But he’d cut off his right arm before he’d deliberately hurt me. And I was horrible to him. I wanted to go to Confession yesterday but I had to stay home to take care of my daughter.

I guess I just need to get this out in the open. I don’t have anyone else to talk to. I’m trying really hard not to go to my mother with things like this (as those of you who have read my previous posts know). Thanks for listening. Please pray for me. 😦

From every other guy who has been in your husband’s shoes, how about instead of beating yourself up with guilt, do something for your husband that shows how much you mean to him.

The Bible is full of God’s forgiveness to those who repent–see Psalm 51 and 1 John 1:9. Your husband has forgiven you. Please try not to beat yourself up! Use this as an opportunity to see, in the future, when you might be in danger of going off the rails and take action to ensure it doesn’t occur. Sanctification is a process, and we absolutely will screw up from time to time.

If you believe that he truly loves you, and that he’s “not just saying it’s ok”, then you must forgive yourself.
Go to confession, make a good Act of Contrition, and wake up tomorrow saying to yourself:
“how can I make my husband’s life better today?”
Be joyful. You have a good marriage. Display that joy at home as well as outside the home. In this way, you honor hm.
God bless you. My husband’s also wonderful. Aren’t we blessed? I thank God.

You may actually be tired. Try getting to bed early for a week in a row. Many women just get into emotional states because they are tired and then do stupid things against their spouses. Get some rest

The good news is that you can fix it by not doing it again and being loving to your dear husband.👍

It’s good you are utilizing CAF to get advice, we are here for you. Don’t beat yourself up (you’re not the only one I do it too!) and try to go to confession tomorrow. If your husband is understanding and like u said very loving, he has already forgiven you. Just show him how you really care about him by preparing something nice for him like a candlelit dinner, or something simple like a drawing or well-thought out card or artwork. These little things will let your husband know that you love him dearly.

God bless!
