I just saw the movie "For Greater Glory" with my family, and it was a great movie

The anticatholic laws in Mexico go back to 1855 when Benito Juarez, His reform laws introduced the separattion on Church and State, and as I said before a Mason himself the laws where heavily liberal and antiCatholic.

Actually, they go back further,to the very first Mexican governments. You can look at them as a long progression that climaxed in the 1917 consitution. Certainly Juarez increased them from the previous governments. But there were many on the books prior to that. Sorry for any confusion on this in my previous posts.

Since its independence, Mexico has never had a government “friendly” to the Catholic Church.
 
It wouldn’t surprise me if some Christians criticized St Michael for fighting the devil rather than peacefully resisting or negotiating with him.
 
Just saw this movie last night. A great, though violent, story. The little boy. Blessed Jose, was portrayed beautifully. Such an inspiring life!
