Are a few people I listen to on talk radio.

They help me understand the political social attitudes.

What about you. Are there people that you know of that you listen to?

I alternate between NPR and Talk Radio, good contrast on issues.

Yes, it is enlightening to listen to well informed people.
It makes you feel good, to understand more of what’s happening in the world, and it gives more to think and to talk about. I like that too.

While I’m not a huge fan of talk radio because of the political slant of the most popular hosts (already mentioned by the OP)
I find it sometimes a necessary balance to the extreme liberalism of the East and Left coast ultra liberal press and media industry. I actually prefer reading generally conservative periodical literature. First Things is a great example.

Some talk radio might make one smarter but in many cases it just makes one more opinionated. Many talk radio personalities can sound authoritative when they are just strident. That said, I used to listen to Michael Medved and Dennis Prager, and NPR for balance. My work schedule hasn’t allowed me to listen to either on a regular basis and haven’t signed up for podcasts. I wish I could have listened to Medved prior to the election; he went to law school with Bill and Hilary and didn’t like Bill but he did like Hilary.

You listen to them but can’t spell their names correctly? This scores very low on the baiting meter.
