I made a huge mistake yesterday and took a look at the carm.org forums. There is so much anger and bitterness there. I just wanted to thank everyone here for keep things civilized.

Rule No. #1 of cyber communications.
Don’t talk to crazy people.

I think I got banned from there years ago. Or maybe it was one of its clones. Not worth the trouble.

Isn’t carm.org forums an evangelical site? I checked it out and there were no posts under Lutheran or Roman Catholic.

Ah, yes. I remember CARM. I spent some time there a while back and left because it was very toxic. From my experiences there, I would summarize the position of most anti-Catholic CARM posters as: I know all about the Catholic Church, so don’t confuse me with the facts!" The reality is that most people there see, at best, a caricature of the Catholic Church. It’s just a sad place that I would advise anyone to stay away from.

Peace,
Robert

Matt Slick is Reformed. The forums are down for maintenance now, but from what I’ve seen at other times it seemed like to whole forum has a Reformed view.

I think the moderators here are more even-handed about getting rid of uncharitable posts. I’ve seen some nasty posts here but they usually get deleted pretty quickly.

Once I saw how un-Christian they were, I asked if in relation to John 6 if they thought Christ was a liar. That got me kicked out pretty quick. They don’t like to be confront about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. And none of them know what a Church father is nor what they said and taught. And…they don’t like hearing that the bible was written by, for and about the Catholic Church…and they know that there bible is inerrant and inspired because the Catholic Church is infallible…nor do they like hearing that faith is made complete by works…nor do they like hearing that the Church practiced infant baptism…nor do they like hearing there is no bible verse that teaches once saved, always saved.

They pretty much don’t like hearing…they are angry and bitter because they really don’t have answers to the above comments and many more…

We should pray for them…they don’t want to hear that either.

Matt Slick…is that really his true name???..posted early church fathers, including St. Justin the Martyr, of whom I always like to share his document on what happened at Mass, 154 AD. I wrote that out on CARM, and it was quickly deleted in about 10 minutes. I was put out for 3 months, but told Catholics there not to remain. You can’t win.
