The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2Who bare record of the
word of God, and of
the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
Notice in Revelation 1 above John who bare witness to the identity of the Christ does not make mention of holy anything other than Jesus and the Word of God

Revelation 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
The them in Revelations is that those who hold true to two things.
- Jesus
- The Word of God
are on the right track.
