And it will be another couple of weeks before I’ll know definitively or not if I’m pregnant. I am not married.

I am scared, uncertain, and I’m really despairing of God’s mercy right now. I committed a deliberate mortal sin and am having trouble even getting myself to confession right now (although I will be later this week, whether I feel like it or not, I hope). There is the possibility of having to make many, many choices within the next several months, although I have not already decided whether or not I raise the child I might be carrying, there is no doubt that I will NOT be ending this child’s life through an abortion. I’m the one who made the mistake, God didn’t (that is, if I should be pregnant), and certainly any product of my mistake is completely innocent.

So, I don’t know what you should pray for… perhaps that I’m not pregnant in the first place… that if I am I will be able to follow God’s will for our lives… that I trust Him more. I am not certain I could be any more repentant, but maybe, now that I am weaker in sexual sins right now, that I will be able to resist further temptations? Or just a Hail, Mary would be nice.

I am an adopted child who is now in his 40s.
**I praise you for your courage, but hopefully
you are not with child. While in college I was
a hedonist so I understand being where your
at. I will pray for you.

First of all Anon., take a deep breath. Take a few in fact.

No matter you end up pregnant or not, things will be ok. A challenge with some difficulties sure, but things will be Ok.

You will be ok.

I know you are feeling an influx of emotions right now. Completely normal and understandable. Fear and uncertainty are very normal feelings to have.

I urge you to go to confession. You will find strength in getting yourself on the “right foot with God” as you face whatever you will need to face.

There are resources out there. Ask your priest to point you in the right direction. Check out the website of your diocese or go to the usccb.org/ website.

Again. Take some deep breathes. Know you (and if you are pregnant) the baby will be ok.

Praying for you. Sending you love in this time of uncertainty.

I was unmarried when I got pregnant at 19. After debating about adoption, I opted to keep my son and fortunately had my parents help. It was the best decision I made. It has been tough, but now 14 years later, I am truly thankful that God gave me my child. Try not to despair; God loves sinners especially when they realize that they strayed and come back. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Well, the good news is that you’re young, and you don’t have to go through all this trauma alone if you’re pregnant. There’s free help available! Check out the following websites:

With regard to Confession, go. You don’t have to go at your home parish, if you don’t feel comfortable doing that. Go to a different one, if you like. But go. Why? Because it will strengthen you! We cannot resist sin on our own. We need God’s grace to do so! And we get those graces in Confession! I guarantee you’ll feel better afterward. Then, go to Mass, too, if you have time. That will give you even more grace and strength to get you through this! 🙂

With regard to temptations, there was a young monk, once, who had trouble with these sort of temptations. So, he sought out a wise old monk who was considered holy, for advice. He asked the old monk, “At what point in our lives do we stop having temptations like this?” The old monk thought for a second, smiled, and said, “Well, from what I hear, about three days after they bury you.” 🙂

Without temptation, there is no virtue. It is with God’s grace, however, that we can defeat temptation. 🙂

God bless! 🙂

You are most likely NOT pregnant…but, if you are, just know that the love you will feel for your baby once he/she is born is stronger than anything you have ever felt before and that he/she will bring more joy to your life than you ever thought possible. It’s just a fact 🙂 Praying for you.

I know exactly what to pray for. For God’s will to work in you and through you and with you. May God grant you the grace and may you except that Grace to fulfill the salvation plan that God has for you. The Lord is with you now and will never leave your side. I know how you feel. I have been in this situation. I was not pregnant and very lucky. I did use the experience to turn my life around. Please know that we are praying for you. I know you are fearful and worried but hold tight to Jesus’ hand and pray unceasingly. Please keep us informed and prepare to be amazed by the will of God. May God bless you and strengthen you.

God loves you.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,

I went to confession today. I am resolved to not fall into temptation again, however I know just how weak I am right now to even think about resisting temptation. Praised be God for His graces in helping me to resist these temptations.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and kind words. I beseech your further prayers!

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God is surely pleased that you would safeguard and not harm an unborn child.
I pray you’ll avoid allowing yourself to place or to leave yourself in any future possible occasions of sin, as you fear your weakness…that you will be practical in how you handle your social and personal life.
If there is a baby I ask God’s blessings for you both.
And God bless you for going in trust to Confession.

I am not pregnant! I am relieved as I have a pretty serious (at least some of the complications can be) and very painful health condition that pregnancy would cause even more damage to my body.

I have strengthened my prayer life and have gone to confession at least once since November 2nd, and I will be going more regularly from now on.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
