I need a copy of a Latin Mass can anyone help?

I was wondering if anyone who had a copy of a Mass in Latin would be kind enough to make acopy for me. I have never had the honor of attending one of these Masses, I am a fairly young man and the Latin Mass was already out when I was growing up. I’d like to see one. If anyone could help me out I’d be grateful. You can Private message me, I can send you a blank VHS tape or you can copy one for me.

It’ll bring you to a link to the Latin Mass for St. Agnes and it’s a PDF file. There are some specifics to customs at St. Agnes (ie a portion where they kneel during the Creed) but this is annotated.

It’s very important to note that this is only the words and translation of the Mass, but it’s a start.

You could try EWTN, also. I know they do have a Latin Mass on TV if you have access to them.

Otherwise, they may offer a tape of a Mass in Latin.

I’ve been to only a couple…the Latin High Mass at St. Agnes, and to the Low Mass at the Cathedral of St. Paul (in St. Paul, MN)
 
Are you looking for the Tridentine or Novus Ordo?

St. Agnes and Assumption Grotto, as well as St. John Cantius all celebrate Latin Novus Ordo. The Tridentine, or TLM is being done by indult (special permission) in some parishes, including St. John Cantius, among others. The book you would need is very different.

Ebay is a good place to get some for the Tridentine Mass. You can even find missals. I’m not sure which missal is the best for the TLM celebrated today so maybe someone can enlighten us.

Most parishes that celebrate a Latin Novus Ordo, publish books for use during the Mass. Often they are handed out prior to Mass and collected aftarwards. Ours is great as it has good translations on the facing page. They cost $3 at our parish gift shop, but I don’t see it online. You can always email Grotto Press to find out how you can get one by mail.

BTW - welcome to the post-V2 club of Catholics interested in traditional forms of the liturgy. We are growing exponentially!!! I have not assisted at a TLM, but attend a Latin Novus Ordo, done traditionally, ad orientem (priest faces away from people to the east). I love it.
 
If you are looking for the Novus Ordo Mass or the ORDO MISSAE CUM POPULO you can buy a booklet “Handbook of Prayers - a complete treasury of prayers and order of mass” by Charles Belmonte and James Socias. It is a booklet or the Latin Novus Ordo Mass with English translation
 
There are 2 wonderful, professionally taped, video (dvds). One is "The Immemorial Tridentine Mass, narrated by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen(FABULOUS) (from www.keepthefaith.org ) , and the other is The Most Beautiful Thing This Side of Heaven.(this one is from Ecclesia Dei in Illinois)
Both are available online (for about $20)

I recommend…them both!!

I spoke to Martha (secretary at St. Agnes) and she said they don’t have a Tridentine there, it’s the NO in Latin.’
Based on the original post, (I’m a young…) I think dizzy is looking for the Tridentine.

Go to www.traditionalmass.net. There you can find several on-line videos of traditional Latin Masses, in communion with Rome.

If you click on the link that says “Video of May 25th Mass in Rome”, then click on “Video of Solemn High Ambrosian Rite Mass”, you will get to see a Mass done in the Ambrosion Rite, which is a very old rite, that is done in Latin.

When you click on each individual part of the Mass, it may take a while to download, but it’s worth it!

A very interesting thing about the Ambrosian Rite Mass:

After the Consecrations are finished, :bowdown: the Priest extends his arms in the form of a cross.

The Consecration can be seen in Part 11. It is absolutely stunning.

And the Ambrosian music!!!

This church is in my diocese, but it is a haul to get there, I have 5 kids 8 and under, so I don’t really think that is an option. That’s why I wanted the video, so I didn’t have to go far away or chase kids around at an unfimiliar parish (we sit in a crying room at my parish). I figured a video would be good, I could watch it at my own pace.

When I attended a Latin Mass I left the kiddies with my hubby. I don’t blame you for wanting to leave them home.
And I have to say, I didn’t know my knees were that old. Genuflecting is at the forefront of a TLM!
