I need a great fundamental theology book on faith!

I have been using George D. Smith’s “The Teaching of the Catholic Church” in two volumes, and although I very much recommend it, I think I need a more specific treatment on the topic of faith. So any recommendations?
 
Scott Hahn has a really good series on different aspects of the Catholic faith. 🙂
 
“Catholicism for Dummies” is Quite Surprising advanced coverage; quite the oppositite of the name. It has a Nihil Obstat for accuracy.

See if you can find a book called, Outlines of Moral Theology, by the Very Rev. Francis J. Connell, C.Ss.R., S.T.D., LL.D. The copy I have is from 1958 and was put out by The Bruce Publishing Co. It’s a short book but has a singular chapter on Faith that is pretty good.

The topics are: The Nature of Faith, The Formal Object of Faith, The Material Object of Faith, The Act of Faith, The Necessity of Faith, The Profession of Faith, The Sin of Infidelity, and Religious Communication.

And it has an Imprimi Potest, a Nihil Obstat and an Imprimatur.

I have ordered JDaniel’s recommendation, but I am still searching. Any other recommendations, guys?
 
You could try ‘The Collected Works of Abbot Vonier’. Burns & Oates [1952].

Good luck if you can find it.

Do you want a book on the Catholic faith or on faith as a phenomenon? Rather different birds, eh? The latter might be a more useful start, I’d opine.
 
I’ve heard that the “Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma” By Dr. Ludwig Ott is one of the best out there.
