I maintain a small Catholic prison correspondence apostolate and have a number of Hispanic brothers who are writing as well, Sadly, my Spanish is terrible and so I need someone who can volunteer to consistently translate their letters so I can respond.

Also, is there an online translation site that is better than Google translate because I understand that that one is very bad.

Any volunteers please respond and we can get busy. I have two letters already waiting some weeks for an answer.😦

Feel free to PM me. I am a seminarian who about a year ago did my immersion course in Spanish and am comfortable conversing and translating–and I’m grateful for any opportunity to practice.

I would be happy to help out from time to time, keeping in mind that I am a single working mom. 😉 You can pm me.

I don’t know of any good translation sites. I think Spanish is a difficult language to translate by computer program for various reasons.

I can help. I was a professional Spanish interpreter back in the US for 4 years and did it some more as a volunteer. I also have time.

Also, I had wanted very much to work with the prison population. In the US, it was a bit of a drive from my house. Once, I made rosaries for Atmore.

In Mexico, I tried at least 3 times to be a literacy tutor here, but they don’t allow outsiders here to tutor in prisons, normally. It’s done by the inmates, for the most part, told me it was too dangerous.

I see we have a lot of Spanish speakers on the forum, which is good. Whatever you decide, but if you should need me, I’ll be here. English is my native language, but I’ve lived in Mexico for 10 years, worked with Spanish speakers as a volunteer for a few more years. The Mexicans have told me that my spelling in Spanish is actually quite good.

I’ve tutored literacy in English and Spanish.

I even know some Braille, in Spanish, believe it or not.
