Thanks for the advice. However, I have the advice of my 102 year old great grandmother to go on…

“Make sure the gentleman you are seeing takes care of his shoes. If he cannot take of his shoes, how can you expect him to take care of you?”

She has been dispensing this little nugget of wisdom to my grandmother, my mom and now me. 🙂
And that is advice you can tell children. 😃 But that did bring up a happy memory, so thank you. Hope he has well-cared-for shoes. 🙂 All my exes have had bad shoes, maybe that is what went wrong.

He’s got nice shoes…but I’ve only seen his gym shoes and his dojo shoes so I don’t know about nicer ones yet…

God I love my nana.

Hey guys! I know I haven’t been posting a lot, but I have lurked around and read a bunch of threads…but now I do have a question.

There is this guy that I take karate with. He is funny, smart, attractive, and kind. We have a ton in common…we are both Catholic, we both love History, debating, reading the same things, karate and we both are quite geeky.

Now, we aren’t in a relationship, but I REALLY like him and I think he might have feelings for me too. But we are both reserved and shy as well.

So here’s the question…I really want to ask him out for a cup of coffee or something. However, as a Catholic man, do you think HE might want to be the one to ask me? I have never been in a relationship with another Catholic before, (Heck I’ve never been in a REAL relationship before…I’ve been in relationships, but not serious ones.) And I kind of don’t know a Catholic man’s perspective on things, as I hardly know any Catholic/Christian men!

So Catholic/Christian men…would you ever want to be the one asked? OR would you want to go the more “traditonal” route and ask the girl out?

Thank you!!
As a guy I tend to be more traditional and would want to make the first move by asking the girl out… that being said I would not mind nor be offended (in fact I would be delighted) if a girl asked me out for a cup of coffee:p:D

So I say go for it:thumbsup:

Your brother in Christ,
Zachary

It was AMAZING! We went to see Shutter Island. I have already seen it once, but he really wanted to see it, so 🙂 So we saw that, and he shyly took my hand…then after the movie we had dinner and we talked and talked and talked…for about two hours…I already knew we had a ton in common…it’s even crazier how much we have in common! We talked about everything…from our mutual agreement that Gandalf can totally take Dumbledore in a fight. How much we love M Night Shyamalan movies, and how much we both love nature walking, history, hiking, photography, stand up comedy, camping. How we both discerned religious vocations, and how I should totally go to his church to watch him lector…

So in short…we’re definately going out again…

Here’s one thing you can do. Just tell him how you feel about him. “I really like you. Not just “like” you – but “LIKE” you. I’ve been dropping hints for a while, so here’s another hint: it would be great if you asked me out for a coffee some time.”

I suddenly got images of The Love Boat and a song “love is in the air. dun don dun dun don… love is IN THE Air…dun don dun dun don don…”

sweet. Sounds like you made a connection.

Good luck and God bless! 🙂

Here’s a man’s perspective.

As you go through this journey with this young man, remember that the reasons you were brought into this world are to know God, love God, and serve God. That means anything you do should be done with an eye towards what God wants from you. So, keep praying and constantly ask God whether He is calling you to a vocation of marriage, and if so, whether it is to this man in particular.

I’m not advocating that you think about marrying him NOW necessarily. Just keep that in the back of your mind as you continue to pray and discern God’s will for your life.

He should be doing the same.

In the end, you’ll both be happier for it.👍

After all, maybe God is calling you to be a nun or him a priest!:confused::D:thumbsup:

We actually both discerned religious vocations, and we know it isn’t right for us…although he has mentioned becoming a deacon someday.

You two are in my prayers:thumbsup: May God guide you both to serve Him in faith, hope and Love.
