i just read a personal letter that Father Corapi posted, and if what he says is true, i am sooo mad and disgusted with how he is being treated. He is stepping down as a priest, for the powers that be over him are forcing him to leave, even though the charges against him have never been proven, and the Church is doing little to defend him. His teachings were very instrumental in my Catholic education and for somebody who defended and taught the Catholic faith around the world, I cannot believe a Bishop would be leading the charge against Corapi. I am so mad and hurt that this is happening, and the Church is not helping defend him. Go to his website and read his statement. It should make any Catholic very upset. i have been struggling for a while now, whether to stay Catholic or go back to my Methodist roots, and this little event right now is making my decision easier. i will pray and ask God to give me peace, but how this servant of God is being treated is just wrong.
 
Settle down a bit. How do you know that the Church is not helping him? Or is this a case of, “I am not seeing the result I wanted, therefore I will assume that the powers that be is not helping him?” We should pray and trust in God’s will, that everything that happens is what is best for all of us and for His greater glory.

Anyway, you faith should not be so fragile that you leave whenever what you perceive as an injustice occurs.

You could become a Methodist and your Methodist pastor may be caught in an affair. Do you then leave the Methodist Church and go somewhere else?

People are human and humans make mistakes. I haven’t read the letter, but do you actually know what is really going on behind the scenes?

there are several active threads on this already so will not participate in discussion here, which is the wrong forum in any case for either this news story or a useless vent about it
 
Hello t68ware,

From a canonical perspective, and from the perspective of reality, his statement is weird. Take a step back and spend some time with the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, praying for Fr. Corapi and yourself. Let things cool off for a while.
