I put blessed holy oil on my dying mother-in-law and then she started speaking in tongues?

If anyone could offer their advice I would most definetly appreciate it. My mother in law in dying from cancer in the hospital. She appears to be in her last days. I have been praying constantly for her well being. She can talk a little bit. I asked her if I could put some blessed holy oil on her forehead. So I did and made the sign of the cross of her forehead. There was a few family members in the room nobody knew I did it. The next day my husband, who is a physican, and is helping looking after her went in to see her. He said she went on for about 15 minutes talking in this completely different language he has never heard before. She is only knows English. He said it sounded like she was speaking in tongues. My husband is not very religious. He said he has never heard a another patient talk like that.

Do you think that could have been related to the blessed holy oil? And if so, what does that mean?

That is really cool! I’m sure it probably is tongues. The holy oil is a sign of being sealed in the spirit( oil represents the Spirit) so giving her the holy oil could definitly have brought the Gift of Tongues to you mother-in-law. I’m sure many of the people on here will tell you that she was just babbling in her sleep or something, but I do not think that’s the case. It sounds like God is doing something special with her.

I am sure this was a miracle. Some would be skeptical, but I do believe the gift of tongues still exist, even though it is highly abused. Your mother-in-law could’ve been given this special gift from God. Particularly your husband saying this, and according to you he’s not that religious.
