Finally, I got my money’s worth today in
the movie theatre. I usually don’t look at
the critic’s rating, but last night I saw that
it was high so I decided to go.
Hotel Mumbai is about the horrific terrorist attack that took place in India in
November of 2008. The bravery of the hotel staff and people trapped contrats with the insane evilness of the terrorists.
The movie was very well made and although it was very intense I am glad I saw it as a reminder of how evil needs to be defeated and how courageous people can be in a time of terror.

Thanks for sharing. I read that during the incident, one of the people there was a Catholic. He ocntinuously prayed with his friend over the phone as he hid.

That is nice. That was not in the movie
though I don’t think.
I can’t imagine going through anything like what was portrayed. I pray to God, I never
know the fear and terror these people
felt.

Was it an Indian-international co-production or entirely Indian? I presume the cast was all Indian?

According to IMDB, it is a US/Indian/Australian co-production. Armie Hammer, an American, is one of the lead actors.

I am not familiar with Armie Hammer and I wondered who had produced the movie.
I recently saw a movie about the assassination of Gandhi and it was definitely an Indian production and very
disappointing.
This one was excellent.

It is the directorial debut of Anthony Maras, who is Australian.

I hope this is a good preview of what is to
come from him.

It was filmed in India for many of the scenes. I am not sure about scenes inside the hotel.
Many of the cast are from India, but not all. Guests staying at the hotel were from
many parts of the world.
