See, why can’t Catholics have a commercial? Or would it be “too controversial”?
There has been talk of catholicscomehome.org trying to raise the funds required to air “Epic” on the national networks. There was even rumor that they were thinking about how much exposure they could get playing it during the Super Bowl. Not sure how practical that really is, though.I have seen that one before but on the website…I have never seen a Catholic commercial on a cable channel or anything like that. Maybe I’m just missing them?
Its not just Scientolgists. The Christian Science church reguarly runs ads on BART. Bay Area Rapid Transit. 3rd/4th largest media market in US. Not cheap. The CS church is tiny compared to the Catholic church. Yet there is no Catholic presence at all in the Bay Area media market - seculat that is. And in terms of advertising.See, why can’t Catholics have a commercial? Or would it be “too controversial”?
I saw it on comedy central.By the way, Denae, on what network did you see the Scientology commercial? Do you recall during which program it aired? I’m just curious as to what audience they are targeting.
There was huge controversy over an ad campaign on BART by the USCCB and the Diocese of Oakland back in 2006. Those who opposed the ads were destroying them and a request was sent to BART asking that the ads be removed entirely. A thread popped up here at CAF around that timeIts not just Scientolgists. Catholicscome is struggling to expand to small markets beyond Phoenix next fall. To Sacto and Colorado Springs and one or two others.

Have not tried EWTN? Mother Angelica's Awesomely Beautiful infomative 140 Nation Channel, and Online? Best Ads, Best Programing are on EWTN. Paid Commercials are Extremly expensive to run. And are millions of them :)
hey. I havent read posts. But if any want to hear are some storys of conversions at catholicscomehome.org
Haven't heard? The Catholic Church is the fastest growing one in the USA in numbers, being one of only 3 Christian Churches growing, not declining in all business secularism of USA. The only statistics and numbers are annually on the National Council of Churches, February annual reports on each Christan faith

Please see # 9 tip for biggest group in USA. Free advertising by 68 Million Americans, done Catholic way < Free :)
I mean what I’m saying is it would be awesome if we had ads for the Catholic Church on a popular television channel. Like…say comedy central? Or Fx? Or Lifetime? I love EWTN, but it’s its OWN channel, you know? Anyone who didn’t want to see it, could just avoid it while channel surfing. I mean, the same could be said for a commercial on another channel, but they may be better able to watch it, because they aren’t actively seeking it out, it comes as a surprise. Get’s 'em thinking when they least expect it. Smile
The problem is Commercial television ads are tremendously expensive, and the Church wisely does not waste money on such expenses. And Comedy Central is Commercial TV. Public television has no ads, except 5 second occassional ads by funders.. Ewtn is watched by Very many just surfing, because it is so unique, ideal non-business. 68 million Catholics can tip more than that nmber people about the wrong of abortion, and unique EWTN. God Bless.
As long as can pay for all the ads. Free sounds workeable. :dancing:This is true…but when I rule the world someday, I will put Catholic commercials on ALL the channels! And there will be nothing anyone can do to stop them…muhahahahahah! ahem sorry. looks around shiftilly no one heard that…
(Feelin a lil silly today )
