Greetings!

I signed the book at our Rite of Sending today. Next week I will be going to the Cathedral in Los Angeles. Just wanted to share that! I’m very happy! 😃
 
Yes, I participated in the Rite of Election today too.

Next stop Easter 👍

I also participated in the Rite of Sending/Election today. It’s a wonderful experience. I’m looking forward to receiving initial sacraments of Catholic Church during Easter Vigil.

Congratulations everyone! I went through RCIA last year. It is an awesome feeling! Enjoy it, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue on your journeys.

I also participated in the Rite of Sending/Election yesterday. I felt an absolute peace and joy when I signed my name.

I am excited that the Easter Vigil is so near I can hardly wait.
 
I experienced the Rite as a sponser last weekend, it was a wonderful experience. Can’t imagine how much more on the other side. Welcome home all 🙂

Yay I signed the book on the 1st Sunday of Lent 21st February…Not in our usual parish but was in Bunbury. We had catecumens from all over the south west going through the same process with their sponsors supporting along side…
Wow I was in aww… A full choir which brought me to tears of happiness many times throughout the mass. The feeling and beautiful singing just made it so special…Then there was four priests and the Bishop of Bunbury who was conducting the mass…How amazing…

Just to experience it amongst everyone else who was doing the same was fantastic…My husband and eldest son also went up and received communion whilst my youngest son who is undergoing his first holy communion in a few months got the fathers special blessing.

I really felt also the presence of 3 of my deceased family members watching me smiling from above…Embracing the moment… Oh I am waiting so and counting the days before I can join in the celebration mass with all our parishiners at the Easter Vigil…Even more so when my husband, myself and my two young sons can all join in the eucharist together…Wow that will be a special moment for me…

Enjoy the coming weeks my friends and concentrate during Lent and focus on positive things in our lives… God bless you all…🙂
 
We did not do the Rite of Election yesterday. 😦 Our parish cancelled our participation due to weather, though the bishop still had the rite. I don’t think they will reschedule.

We also had no rite of acceptance (in December), and are doing no scrutinies. I am still on track, I hope, to be baptized, confirmed, and receive first Holy Communion on Easter Vigil.

Congratulations to the newly Elect! I imagine that we’ll go straight from “street people” to being baptized Catholics, without having stopped at “Catachumen” or “elect.”
 
I guess the weather is a fully good reason to cancel a participation, here in sweden it has been a terrible weather for some days with big disturbance in the traffic as a result.

Trains, buses, metro, everything had big problems.

I myself also didnt have the rite of acceptance in december but the rest of my group had it but thats because i had my rite of acceptance during lent last year.

Why will there be no scrutinies?
I talked to my RCIA conductor and he advised me to have my scrutinies in my home parish as it is closely associated to the baptism which also will take place in my home parish and not in the parish of my RCIA.
 
I also went to the Rite of Sending and Rite of Election this past Sunday and signed the book. I was scared, I was nervous, I didn’t know what to expect or what to do. Then I walked into the Cathedral and saw how beautiful it was and began to calm down. By the end of the Rite I could feel tears starting to well up behind my eyes. Of course, being the manly man that I try to portray myself to be in public, I blinked them away. I also almost tripped climbing the steps to shake the Archbishop’s hand, but I don’t think it was that noticeable LOL. Overall it was a very humbling and beautiful experience, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me this Easter.
