Did you remember your loved ones today or this week? How did you spend this wonderful Holiday? đź‘Ť

in a parade, watching children in the pool, talking to my parents and my boyfriend about college… Great Day!

I smoked a brisquet, cooked a pot of beans and threw in a frozen apple pie. My mom came over for dinner. I also watched the baby a few hours so my wife could take in a rare shopping trip and I mowed (yes, I used a noisy leafblower).

I had my 2 nieces and 1 of my nephews, plus my 2 kids, since Friday after work until Monday night. Great weekend, their parents came to get them Monday and we cooked hot dog and hamburgers on the grill and roasted marshmallows. It was fun.

taking care of two sick kids. My two youngest were sick. On Sunday DH stayed home with the two sick ones. I took my oldest to church and then out to lunch and a movie. Yesterday everyone was feeling well enough for the cook out we had planned for Sunday.

With my family, having fun, bike riding, barbecuing, in general, being thankful for so much I have, but also remembering the veterans of course. Last year we attended a magnificent memorial service (quite an ordeal) at our local cemetary in the big apple, it was beautiful. I highly recommend it for those of you who have not done such. It is a most beautiful way to spend Memorial Day, and thus to remember the reason for this holiday to begin with. For it’s not just another day off, rather has quite a meaningful purpose. Military bands, etc., remembering our loved ones who have fought or even died for our country. This year we didn’t go, but next year for sure! I urge all of you as well and your families to do such as well, if you haven’t already.

Blessings~~

My family and I spent it at Cape Code camping — well quasi camping - we had a 35ft travel trailer with Mw and AC. Didn’t need either though! The weather was just goregous!

Did get a huge thunder storm Sunday night though - but other than that is was great weather! We had a ball.

Visited Plimouth Plantation and the Mayflower. Went to Mass in Plymouth, MA - awesome church - St. Xavier’s … great homily on the Real Presence …

Just had such a super weekend, biking and just playing.

I did feel guilty though - that I hadn’t gone to my dad’s grave … never missed a memorial day yet. I will go this week though - I miss him terribly :crying: Some days the missing is greater than other days - but I know he is happy where he is! My dad was a walking saint!

I went to a local 10K race with my husband, son, and brother in law. We have done the same thing for the past 25 years. My whole family are runners, so we have had a little different group over the years for this race. It is our ritual. My husband is a veteran, so I let him decide the day. I did listen to a program on the radio to commemorate veterans on the Catholic Radio station and Michael Medved’s program. I spent time in the car!

In Chicago we had great weather!

Went to a bar-b-q, swam, chilled, studied for a final, talked with my gf’s parents about our relationship. Bunch of good stuff.

…celebrating mine and my husband’s birthdays with my family. We had lunch together and then went to a baseball game. Very fun!

I get the feeling I will be in a very similar boat in a few years.

We went to a movie, took the kids to the cemetary to put flowers on veteran’s graves, cooked burgers on the grill and rested as much as possible, trying to beat a nasty head cold.
