My name is Volodymyr, I’m from Ukraine. I would like to ask you for a prayer.

I suffer from severe scrupulosity and I’m on strong medication at the moment. Sometimes I make the life of my Mum and Dad unbearable. I always find new moral dilemmas and talk about this all the time.

Please pray for me and, if you want, give me some advice.

Dear Volodymyr,

Yes, of course, you will be in the daily prayer of my husband and myself. Severe Scrupulosity can be a terrribly difficult trial. St. Therese suffered from it as a very young person, but God worked great good in her life, teaching her the beautiful Truth of Spiritual Childhood, trust in God and Mary. He gave His Mother Mary to Therese in a very special way. as you can read in her autobiography, “The Story of a Soul” you may want to read her words. This link will take you to an online copy of her book: click HERE

I wholeheartedly agree with patricius on the powerful intercession of Our Mother Mary. She is our Refuge in every trial and difficulty we face on earth. St. Therese was devoted to Mary from her childhood and I believe every saint grows closer to Jesus as they grow in love and devotion to Mary. Jesus gave Mary to all of us from His Cross in His Words to John and to all of us, “Behold your Mother”.

May the Lord bless you and increase in your heart daily your love for Him through Mary and the intercession of all the Saints and Angels, particularly your own Guardian Angel.

Please pray for me and, if you want, give me some advice
The best advice I think anyone here can give is “resist the urge to ask people here if this or that crazy scenario is a sin.” I know you’ll want to be reassured, but it’s just going to make your condition worse. Youll probably get different opinions which will make you even more anxious.

The best thing you can do is approach your priest, tell him you have scrupulosity, and then trust him. Don’t look around for second opinions. Let him help you.

Heavenly Father, please grant brother Volodymyr peace of mind and calm his troubled heart. His soul is like a turbulent sea. He can’t seem to find balance so he stumbles and worries constantly. Grant him the strength and clarity of mind to find his purpose and walk the path you’ve laid out for him. I trust your Love God, and know that you will heal this stress. Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of night. Please bring him clarity with the light of God. Amen.

Thanks so much for your prayers, Volodymyr – it is so important that we pray for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy.

Dear PilgimMichealangeo.

Thanks for your “heart” on my reply to Volodmyr. Sincerely, my husband and I – when we pray together each morning – pray for all those for whom we’ve promised to pray and for those also who may think they have no one to pray for them. It is truly important that we pray for one another.

Our Mother Mary has asked us to pray our Rosary daily, and after each decade, having meditated on the Mysteries of Jesus’ life with her, to pray this short prayer of petition to Him:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell. Draw all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of God’s Mercy.
Mary is the Mother of Mercy and she knows our every need, She tells us as she told the servants at Cana simply, “Do whatever He tells You”. Jesus, we trust in You. Mary Mother of the Church, pray for us, and with us.
