I Have a Question
why do my feelings, my Emotions Changes when I am Thinking About, If The Confession in my Place Reopened Again. Sometimes I Feel Repentant Sometimes I Dont.
I Dont Know Why But I am Afraid that when The Sacrament Of Confession Reopened and I will not feel Repentant or Guilty Of All my Sins,

At times people feel repentant and at times they don’t --still sin is sin.

It is not about feelings.

Pray about it and speak to your priest while in confession about it.

Repentance is an act of the will that is independent of our emotional state. If you are concerned about your contrition, you can pray something like, “Jesus, please give me the gift of contrition and help me to make a good Confession,” and then trust in his power and his goodness.

Peace.

Interesting you mentioned that, as I went to confession yesterday, and was in tears praying for much of the rest of the day.

Do not rely on your feelings to monitor your relationship with Jesus Christ!!!

Facts–Faith–Feelings. It’s a train, with Facts as the ENGINE, Faith as the coal car, and feelings are the caboose–not necessary, but nice to have.

Rest on the FACTS of the Catholic Church–read the Catechism, the Bible, and/or good books by current and ancient Catholic writers who can help illuminate the history and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Then put your FAITH behind the FACTS–your faith will keep that engine running. But it’s your choice–you have to actually pick up a shovel and load up your FACTS engine with your Faith Coal.

Finally, if you have feelings, enjoy them and then wave to them as they pass through, which they will! (Haven’t you ever waited at a train track for a long train, and then waved at the person in the caboose as it drives by?!).

Hope this helps!

Frankly, I am finding it very difficult to have any kind of positive feelings about anything during this pandemic, especially since my husband and parents-in-law all have COVID, and I am waiting for my 3rd COVID test results. If I were depending on my feelings instead of my faith, I would be doomed.

It’s kind of like love, you can “feel” sky high at times, then other times it seems mundane, but a true love, like the Lord has for us is not based on feelings. No matter how you “feel” the grace that the Lord bestows upon you for your confession is effective and sufficient. He loves you, and wants to rid your soul of sin, no matter how you feel.

Isaiah chapters 1-5 provide textual images of the sins of the nation of Israel. Sins described in chapter 1 alone have names like: rebellion, evil, wickedness, corruption, forsaking God, apostasy, hands full of blood, misdeeds, injustice, sins like scarlet, prostitution, murder, bribery. In Isaiah 6, the prophet has a vision of God on His Throne. He knows that he has unclean lips and his lips are purged. The Lord says “Whom shall I send?” and the prophet responds with “Here am I. Send me.”

We do not rely on feelings, as feelings can mislead. Rely on truth.

You´re welcome. What happened to my post btw? Did it disappear or is it just my computer being off?
