at the week long Theology of the Body class by Christopher West, there were 4 people from Focus on the family in the class!!!

I almost forgot about this talk – I actually do have it, on CD, and I do remember it being very good, although it’s been a while since I listened to it.

I think you may be right on this. I have to admit I was surprised when my neighbor, instead of immediately refuting what I said (which is her usual response when we’re talking religion!), just paused and said, “Really?” I’m so sad for her that now she feels so guilty about having used the pill; I mean, like other posters have said, she just didn’t know. Protestant churches are doing a great disservice to their members by not standing up for the truth on this issue.
I went to a charismatic/pentecostal church. When I started, there were lots of new christians and people from other denominations. The pastors were asked what the churches stand on contraception was:
  1. NFP is best.
  2. Condoms and other barrier methods were acceptable.
  3. Hormone-type ABC was not acceptable (because it didn’t stop conception just implantation, therefore caused an abortion).
