I told my parents last night about my plans to become a priest, by entering the seminary right out of high school. They are going to be supportive of me. I can breathe easy now.

As for bben15, my heart pains to hear that you don’t have the support from your parents that you hope for. How I would embrace a child of mine that would choose religious life. A gift. I will also keep you in my prayers. Follow your heart, God will lead you. Blessings to you in the coming year.

Congrats! As a high school teacher, I’m so impressed with your writing skills as I reread your older posts. Have you ever considered following our Holy Father and becomimg a Jesuit? Most Jesuits enter their formation with an undergrad degree and by the time they take formal vows have a doctorate. They study all over the world at the top universities. My current pastor was dean at one of their universities in Florence!!! Ill be praying that you find peace and joy in the next year as you decide your plan for your college years.
