So, a good friend of mine had introduced me to the k-pop world. I guess a lot of us can agree that k-pop music is really great. Now, when I was enjoying a song by BTS, (Blood,Sweat, & Tears to be specific,) I noticed that the Pieta was shown in the video with band members dancing before it. Towards the end, the face of Mother Mary shatters.
I really like music by the band, but after watching this particular video, I’m in a dilemma. Should I continue Listening to their songs, or not?
You can watch the music video to help me out better
Your advice would be super helpful!

Having read the translation…it does contain the lyrics " I cannot worship anyone else besides you, I knowingly drink, from the poisoned chalice."

I am pretty sure they are not talking about anything Christian, here.

I would like to see video before I make any judgement. Could you please give me the name of the song. Thank you

The song is the usual tripe about getting involved in a love affair that you know is bad for you.

The video, which I presume was developed by some artist/ marketing director types, is somewhere between “Like a Prayer”-era Madonna, and Trent Reznor (dude floating in air, implication being demon possessed; disturbing religious imagery).

I personally do not enjoy seeing misuse of images of Mary or Jesus in a video, including by any of the artists I mentioned. If the band makes a practice of doing such things I would quit listening to them. If on the other hand this is some momentary element thrown in there to shock, I might continue listening but just be keeping an eye out on their other material to make sure anti-Mary, anti-Jesus, anti-Catholic etc. is not a common thread. Madonna made some other videos and songs that were pretty innocuous and still others (particularly “Oh Father”) where I thought Catholic themes were explored in a better way.

Of course, if you personally feel uncomfortable listening to any music or think it is leading you to sin in any way, then avoid it, regardless of what I or anyone else say.

Maybe you can provide a link to the video you are referring to. I did not know BST made any music videos.

The OP is refering to a Korean Pop (K-pop) music group called BTS. Their music video is titled Blood Sweat and Tears.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I am sure they are very popular right now. They have that “look” about them!
