Gideon is biblical, therefore of all Christians

When called by God to lead and protect the nation, in his humility and doubt he spoke courteously to God in Judges 6:14-16
‘Pardon me, my lord," Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”
The Lord answered, "I will be with you…

He suffered doubt in God. but was brought to faith and victory, after which, he showed his humility and his recognition that God is above all when he spoke as follows after his victory
Judges 8:22-23 ‘The Israelites said to Gideon, “Rule over us—you, your son and your grandson—because you have saved us from the hand of Midian.” But Gideon told them, “I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you.
The Lord will rule over you.”

He was a leader, and became a symbol of obedience, faith, and obedience
to God.
Despite earlier personal doubts, he became stronger in God.

However I know at least two Capuchins who changed their names within the Order, when they took their vows.
Perhaps contact the Capuchins to ask if that is still done.
