I want to convert to Catholicism. What do I do?

I am a British Asian, I was born into the Sikh faith but do not practice.
Over the past few years I have been drawn to the church for inner peace and sanctuary, and feel that I have more of a connection with the catholic faith, and Jesus.
I want to convert to catholicism, and would like to know the best way to achieve this, I have found a local catholic church to me and want to speak to the priest to ask how I can be accepted, and what I need to do.
Please would you give me some guidance as this really does feel like the right path for me.
