Hi fellow Catholics,

I would like to go church everyday and pray before school starts in the morning even if its only for 10 minutes. My question is is church always open and would the priest allow me to come inside.
 
It all depends on the parish, and where it’s located (parishes in some neighborhoods stay locked when there’s not Mass or something else going on; this is for security purposes in some places), and what times Masses may be taking place there. I would phone your local parish and ask them, or go by and look. And if you can’t make it into the church every single day to pray, there are other ways to pray and sanctify your day–you can pray privately on the way to school or even pray at school before it starts.

Most churches stay locked when not in use (not so “back in the day” ) .

Look for a perpetual eucharistic adoration chapel in your area…or adoration chapel that has hours you can get into (they’re all around) . Ask around. THere’s even a website that has a search engine for these.

Ask your pastor. Some churches are open all the time, some are open specific hours, some have combination code locks so that those with the code can let themselves in, etc. no one knows the answer for your specific parish here, it is something you will simply have to ask about locally.

It’s free, and if you type in your location, it gives you the Mass and confessions time of parishes within your area, and maybe even more info!
