So I started thinking the other day. Out of all the planets out there, there must be 1 that has the highest mountain or the biggest ocean, or some other thing that make is unique from all the other trillions of planets.
What if life is the thing that make earth unique?

Thoughts?

That is a ponderous question.

I would think that life does make the Earth unique…if Earth were the only planet where “life” existed.

It’s not logically impossible for Earth to be the only planet that contains life.

However, it’s also not logically impossible for several mountains to be tied for ‘the tallest in the universe.’

True, but it was a planet’s unique aspect that i was considering, not only its tallest this or that.

My point was that there is no logical necessity for each planet being unique. I guess except in point occupied in space. Or, I guess specific matter that makes it up. There may be a few others that are entailed in a planet having an identity. I don’t think life is one of them, though.

Life will Flourish wherever the Chance,
Any Planet out there if the environment is good

But even the mineral make up in combo with other features would make a planet unique, one in a trillion trillion.

If there was sentient life out there, how would it fit into salvation history? Would they have souls. Would they need saving and be saved?

Things that make you go hmmm 🤷

That is one of my favorite “hmmmm’s”

What if…other intelligent “life forms” were created and one or more did not commit an Original Sin…(?). These beings would not need redemption. They would be closer to God than we are.

I find that very hard to believe. It is an assumption. If true then scientists should be able to create living things in the lab. On TV, while watching a science program, it was explained that if another planet planet was the right distance from its sun and had water and “the building blocks of life” then life would appear there. No one knows if this is a true statement.

They would most certainly desire our state because God took our form and dwelt among us making us brothers, not slaves, friends, not servants.

But wouldn’t aliens also need salvation? Adam and Eve contaminated all souls with original sin. If the aliens are sentient, they must have a soul, therefore they are tainted by original sin, they need salvation.

Its one of my fave topics as well, I have spent alot of time researching this very thing.

To that question though, there is just no way we can even guess about the salvation or their status with God, until we have a first contact event and find out what their beliefs are…Id like to hope upon such an event, they would speak of the same God we worship, but I really think that is doubtful, in reality, I think they will claim to be our creators.

You find this hard to believe ? Well I’m no scientist of any kind, but I’m sure with so many millions of Galaxies out there, and ours is not much more than a speck of dust amongst
The wall of galaxies ,there has got to be,

It is very interesting (mind blowing, actually) to contemplate how far mankind would have advanced if Adam had not nibbled the apple.

After “X” number of years…where would we be today? Would we be an advanced civilization, traveling through the Universe…or would we just be “kicking back” enjoying “Eden”???

Yes, you are right, in fact I read something couple days ago where majority of scientists now think its a guarantee we are not alone, due to the sheer numbers, I mean, saying millions and millions of galaxies is not even close…in reality, its more planets, systems, etc than we have a number for…knowing this and STILL thinking we are all alone, is actually bordering on crazy.

Not to mention, just because a planet is not X distance away from their star, or ‘goldilocks zone’ means nothing, we have no idea how other life forms have adapted to their worlds, they may not even be carbon based. We are too wrapped up in thinking in human terms, trying to apply our science to something totally unknown, when it probably is MUCH different.

I Find it hard to believe that you find it hard to believe,

When Im faced with a religious problem which I cannot fathom,
Which is lots & lots,
I think of Saint Augustine ,with the Mystery of the Trinity,
The boy with the bucket ,look it up,
The details escape me at this moment
