I really do not work with them except in online community… I do not really have to deal with them… but every now and then there are things in their blogs on the forum we have( we are all self employed but use the same site) there seems to be the few that were"raised catholic" that are now like a bit of everything… watered down…
i think it seems fair game is on Catholic bashing and I find it upsetting but am not a scholar and wonder what to say… but say nothing cuz I hate getting in arguments.
’ My choice is to back off more and just do my job, which is a great job… or to be more vocal about the lies they are telling and the bashing.
I do have a great opportunity to teach if I was the “scholar” that i wish I was on the teachings of the Catholic church. I hate to get in arguments.
any suggestions?

If you were to bash their religion, what would they do?

I have found that people who are Pagan and New Age, are usually open to any religion but Christianity, because well, they were usually raised in that faith and have anmosity toward it. (notice I said, I have found, and usually, this is a personal experience)

However, I do think that you need to call them on it, and politely ask them… “why are you bashing my Faith?” And politely tell them that you would never do that to them, why oh, why are they doing it to you…

It’s much easier to run with a pack than alone…maybe ask someone one on one why they are doing this…

thanks-
and another thing that really got me was someone said Happy Easter in the forum and someone started a thread saying;l" be careful with your Happy Easter greetings/
like i mean, it could be said be careful with any holiday greeting… but oh no, it had to be against a christian one/. they started saying lets call it happy Bunny day!

I said that could offend someone( me)
anyway… I hate the way I am so scared to say anything. i pray I get the words and thanks for the suggestions

peacefulpainter,
I was pagan, and was sent on my path to conversion in part by the gentle witness of a devout Catholic on an internet forum. I can tell you how she handled me: since I was following ancient Irish gods, she engaged me in discussion about how the conversion of the Irish pagans was bloodless, and how it could be interpreted that they recognized that Christianity was the fulfillment of druidic teachings. (There is real historical support for this position, BTW - she didn’t just make it up.) She also was great about turning the other cheek to flat-out bashing and not appearing shaken or upset at things that were potentially blasphemous to her beliefs. In other words, she stayed out of discussions unless she felt she could make a positive contribution which could also be backed up using historical sources.

It may be difficult to do this unless you are reasonably familiar with what these people actually believe, and that might not be a direction you wish to go in. In that case, simply showing Christian charity will go a long way to demonstrating that their ideas about Christians are wrong. Perhaps most of them won’t notice, but there is always the chance that someone will, like I did.

I think you should ask the good lord ( who is so generous ) for some lighting bolts and just zap a few here and there and they will believe when that happens 👍
