i guess you will find out there’s a Purgatory when you get there…

you are already there if you are trying to do everything Jesus said…

Jesus said that when you do this, you will be “hated by all” … that’s one example of Purgatory…

If we do absolutely everything Jesus says we can avoid Purg in the next life altogether… but how many people actually succeed…? which is why the Church (saints, etc) tells us that most people go to Purg before Heaven…

i have learned from experience the extent to which this HAS to be true… i mean pepole are really into evil these days… whole lotta purgation needs to be goin on…:eek:
Peace and blessings Distracted,
Your post is very nice and yes you and i seem to have a very similar understanding of the Holy spirit making us whole again.

My post was not as a challenge but was a genuine question about learning more on limbo and purgatory as the earliest Church fathers understood.

I am really keen to learn more of limbo, it was so taught by the Church in times past but little today.

Where purgatory today is still very spoke of and Catholics have conversations with people there and do things here for them.

For what its worth IMO people of old were into really evil things in those days and yes these days too.

if it were that simple we wouldn’t need someone to interpret the Bible…

and we do because it does not interpret itself…
Praise be to Our Father who gives His spirit in us to purg us so we can understand it.
which is why we have so many interpretations these days to choose from… why we have 40,000 different “christian” so-called churches… all teaching different things…
Yes translation is influenced by interpretation, In awe of Our Father, amazing how two differently worded translations can be read by two people and still they understand the message the same. Praise be to Our Father.
but i don’t have 40,000 to choose from because i know which one is the right one… RCC:)
Praise be to G-d you are purged and do not need men to discern for you that 39,999 are not churches.

Poor John (pbuh) (in comparison to you) saw at least seven churches in the Catholic bible versions.

Our Father inspires me more like him but i am not fully purged so am able to error in discernment.

Praise be to Him that like you i see “One True Church” and yet so much unlike you do.

By His will may My Father bless and guide you and yours as youes submit unto Him

the 10 virgins are waiting for their Bridegroom.

that would be Jesus…

there are 5 wise and 5 foolish

my interpretation of this is that there are 5 who really follow Jesus and 5 who only give him lip-service or what have you.

then the end comes and the 5 foolish are not ready… so they are not allowed into Heaven.

But are they allowed into Purgatory? I mean, after all, they are “virgins” which would seem to imply that they are purified at least enough to … be called Christians… if not very good ones…

any comments would be greatly appreciated… never had a priest exlain this in a homily…

(maybe because it had to do with either purgatory or hell or both)

Neither, I think. The emphasis is not on human beings (“It’s not all about man”) - it’s on the final coming of the Kingdom of God. The Banquet is the Marriage-Feast of the Messianic King, Jesus. When it does come, that moment will be too late for men to decide which side they will take. So He continually warns His followers to be on the watch, lest it catch them unawares.

but i don’t have 40,000 to choose from because i know which one is the right one… RCC:)
Blessings and maybe i did not understand where you are at when making my last two posts.

Who interpenetrates scripture for you, My Fathers spirit in you, your priests as The 1 of 40k Church representative, or any one who posts in non catholic section of CAF?

If i was off track in the last two posts sorry but it seems to me in reflection maybe that you dont know which one is right or your posting to find others in error.

Just in response to the initial post and related comments:
I am not a biblical scholar but if this is referring to the 2nd coming as some posts of mentioned, then this could be referring to the fact that at that point (the time of 2nd coming), one has 2 options, either heaven or hell. After the 2nd coming, the final judgment (the general judgment) will take place (Matt 25:31-32 and others refer to this). One will either be with the sheep or the goats; one will either be with the 5 wise virgins or the 5 foolish virgins; one will be in either heaven or hell.

Just a thought.

the virgin Mary appeared somewhere and said that this is the worst period in the history of the world as far as sin goes… i already had this thought long before i heard that…

just in the last 3 or 4 years people have gotten incredibly RUDE for no apparent reason… except that they reject Christ…

anyway… i kinda forgot what was said in previous posts…

are you interested in becomig Catholic??

hurches

Christ established ONE Church and that is the Roman Catholic Church… Luther–human being-- changed all that and now there are 40,000…

i used to think that … well, that there is only one Church and we are all believers… but after having gone to several non-C churches… (ecclessial communities as the One Church calls them) i realized that the protestants are the ones who fight unity… they didn’t like me saying i was Catholic and treated me differently than other members … so i decided to just stay with the Catholic Church entirely, even for socializing purposes… (that was the only reason i went to a non-C church anyhow)

Catholics are far more ecumenical minded than protestants… gen speaking

Peace and blessings Distracted,
In our diocese we developed a ten year plan with ten components one of which is interfaith and ecumenical life.

Some of us have ran with it but we are very few.

It seems we were all a blaze it is important but the action has been lacking. If you like the spirit inspired faith was there but as a whole we have near killed it from lack of works.

My Pentecostal fellowships work very hard at ecumenical relationships, spawning various groups and activity.

My Catholic parish rarely publicises any of these activities, i dont know why if i ask i am told oh yes we should have but we still continue not to.

To live the ecumenical side of our plan i have really had to get serious involved in my Pentecostal fellowships.

At times i will hear anti-Catholic reteric but most is from ignorance the accepting of what others have taught them rather than seeking truth with our G-d given gift of discernment. They back away from their view with love and sharing.

I do suspect part of our motivation for ecumenical and interfaith works is so we can pull priests from our smaller community’s leaving them with other religions for fellowship. After all small communities are very expensive per head. Sadly my large community has two priests and we could easy live with one priest and our lay leaders. A long time ago we developed a priest sustination fund to share funding around our diocese to ensure the well being of our priests in small communities. I would like to see us do the same with our parish funding to support our brethren in small communities but we seem to like to keep our parish funds to our selves to buy more worldly stuff like projectors. The mentality is “it is our money”, if i explain it is His as it all is they just dont seem to see it as i do and believe He does.

This year at our assembly we will review our ecumenical and interfaith works and at a guess they will say how wonderful we are for what little we have done seeing ourselves as great “Catholics”.

Could you share with me the writing’s on this and if it had two witnesses.
are you interested in becomig Catholic??
yes i am but our previous PP said i am. Our current PP i have know for years and he does not seem to have been spirit inspired to change me. Our assistant priest i have also known for a long time and he has not suggested i am not Catholic. Admittedly i dont have a need to call my self “a religion labels” Our Father inspires in me to live in His spirit, so who knows where this will blow me, i do know i love to serve His goodness in you and others without concern for religion labels. May it be His will not mine.
I have posted on CAF truth that are exactly inline with Catholic teaching and had spouted back at me totally unrelated anti-islam responses by Catholics. No i do not want to be the same as those people. Yeshua (pbwh) calls me to love every one and meet them where they are rather than becoming an anti-other religion works person that cant read the truth before their eyes.

I asked this because of the inconstancy of your questions and statements. I got from your posts in this thread you were asking every one at CAF but also said only The Church had the answers. I took this as you being confused or setting up non Catholics to be corrected.

By His will may G-d bless you and yours as youes submit unto Him

i’m not sure you are addressing this to me or whom??

i am not inconsistent… becaues the Church i quote is not inconsistent… so you would have to give me an example… for me to comment…

This thread is posted in the Non-Catholic section of CAF rather than under scripture.

You ask
any comments would be greatly appreciated
Later you offer
The Real Presence of Christ abides in the Church, keeping Her from ever teaching error…
so the question in me was why ask Non-Catholics to comment?

It seems to me you ask everyone to comment as you have not the explanation from the Church and then when they do answer you show how they are in error and state the Church is the only right.

Bro, if Our Father inspires you the Catholic Church is the only right way to get an answer ask of Her, not anyone posting in the Non -Catholic section of CAF.

I dont suggest you have done it deliberately but you have set people up to be corrected. IMO not very loving to them.

Love ya B blessed B guided

i have no idea what you are talking about. you don’t mention what i said or whatever…

and maybe to suggest that I

ask everyone to comment as you have not the explanation from the Church and then when they do answer you show how they are in error and state the Church is the only right.

and

deliberately but you have set people up to be corrected. IMO not very loving to them.

is itself “not very loving”

i have a good suggestion…

since you think i have evil motives why don’t you just not respond to my posts anymore…

simple, huh?

I am not really good with English but don’'t see how you dont understand except that you are distracted.

Yes better i dont share with you as we have a serious communication issue. It will keep your ride easy so you can get the splinters out of others eyes. G-d knows i need lots of help getting them out of my own.

Again sorry but not for what i shared in love but that it was not received so.

Be blessed and be guided
