iBreviary question-need help, please

Love iBreviary.

It lists several different offices: Franciscan, Augustinian, etc in several languages.

My problem: the Franciscan offices are completely listed in, for example, Italian. In English, however, the only Franciscan office listed under the Franciscans is Holy Father Francesco.
No other saint day is listed.

Am I doing something wrong? :o
 
Have you tried Universalis? There is a free version and a paid version for
under $15. Worth a visit to the app store to check out if you are unhappy with your current app.

Universalis is not an accurate translation, IIRC.

I just wonder why iBreviary has a Franciscan option in English with only 1 feast? Why even go to the trouble?:confused:

Particularly as:
  1. It has been this way for quite some time and
  2. The other languages (well, at least Italian) list all the feasts.
I’m confused.

I must admit to being a tad surprised and disappointed that there hasn’t been a “solution post” posted yet. 😦

I was hoping for a “Lou, you twit, all you do is such and such and it will give you that” response by now.:o

Count me among the twitless. We use this app for our Thursday staff meeting,s and I am never on the right page. :o
 
I have not compared day by day with Universalis against the printed LOTH but if a person is praying the Hours solo or with a family and all using the same app, would a minir inconsistency really matter? It’s all prayer.

That said, the app is accurate on feast days and such when compared to our diocesan calendar.

2 questions, please:
  1. what is the difference between the free and pay versions and
  2. does it have a Franciscan office option?
 
  1. Pay version means all content available, no need to connect to internet to download.
  2. Mine is set to the local archdiocese, so the feasts correspond to the USCCB calendar. There are regionalizations for other countries such as Austealia, NZ, Wales, Ireland, South Africa, etc. The translation options are Jerusalem Grail (also available for free daily on universalis.com) and NAB.
 
I just downloaded iBreviary to compare to Universalis…

The psalmody, readings, antiphons, etc, all seem to match up for today. iBreviary has more prayers encapsulated in it, almost like a melding of Laudate and Universalis. Not sure how many days can be downloaded in a group with iBreviary.

I believe 1 week. I’ve never used that feature, though.

As OFS, we are encouraged to pray the Roman-Franciscan offices in theory, but almost everyone that I’ve discussed this with prays the “regular” LotH. It would be nice if I could steer them to an app that does the Roman-Franciscan.

I thought that Grail was only available on the paid version.
 
My bad. JB&G and NAB are both paid options.

This is from their site:
The official Grail translation of the psalms, which is used liturgically in most of the English-speaking world, has not been displayed here, for copyright reasons. The following apps do contain the official translations.
