Hello to anyone out there 
I have a question that I have been looking into for the past few days and a priest recommended me to this website, so here I am. If anything I say is incorrect, please let me know.
The ICCEC is a new church as of 1992. It has a number of churches in the United States, but pulls most of its mass from Africa. The Bishops were re-ordained in 1997 obtaining a more solid line of succession from within The Catholic Apostolic Church of Brazil, formed by Carlos Duarte Costa in the 1950’s
Though the catholic Apostolic Church of Brazil’s Carlos Duarte Costa was excommunicated, it doesn’t necessarily make them invalid at all. It does however, according to Cannon law make them illicit. The ordinations can very well be valid if done with the right intentions and the right format.
Cannon law in my own word and understanding (and from memory from what I read an hour ago) in said nut-shell:
It requires the Ordination of Bishops to be done by three other Bishops, unless only two are available, in which case a bishop from say an Eastern order would be needed. There are however exceptions and a Bishop can be ordained by another Bishop (singular) with special permission or in very extreme cases (such as was seen during communism). So, as long as the intention and format were proper, Carlos Duarte Costa could very validly ordain another Bishop(s) or Priest(s), thought highly illicit.
Did I get it right?
So, my question is, does anyone know the validity of the line of succession within the ICCEC? Is the consecration of the Eucharist, and ordinations valid?
I have looked, not extensively, on the web and American Bishops Conference with no real luck.
Help from anyone would be Appreciated. Thank you
