In the church here there is a magnificent icon of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Twelve stars are in her halo.
Does your church have any icons?

we recently renovated our church… from that post 70ish-neo-iconoclastic back close to the beauty the building once had… in the basement we’ve found several of the old statues and several parishioners had purchased or obtained other statues to preserve them from destruction have donated them back.
The stations were beautiful sculptures in the beige; however, when we restored the ceiling and other parts of the church, we discovered that someone had painted them too… so a restorer was able to pull the outer layer of paint of to revel the original paint colours and then sandblasted them clean so that he could restore the church…

40+ years of that beige and the restoration was finished during Holy Week a few years back… just in time for Easter… sort of like the building came out of the desert!

so yes, we have a Statues of Mary, Joseph, The Sacred Heart, at the foot of the main Crucifix - Mary and John, statues of St Francis and our Patron Saint, an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, then the stained glass windows… and that’s just the surface… we recently found another image buried in the depths of our church basement - maybe one day we’ll rediscover the original communion rail. The High Alter was however sold from what I understand… sad that.

There are some other local churches and they have also been able to either preserve or restore many of their holy images. All in all, some very beautiful churches and a lot of history behind them.
