Do you have any Holy Week ideas or activities you are planning for yourself or your family during all these stay at home orders?

We’ve been getting dressed up for TV Mass. I suppose we will all try to wear red for Palm Sunday. I wish I had not gone through all the trouble of properly disposing of the blessed palms that were floating around in my car. We’ll bust out the 3 or 4 crinkly ones we still have.

Watch The Passion at some point.

I just read about the 7 churches tradition. I know we can’t go in, but it could be nice to go for a drive to the 7 nearest churches.

Maybe go out in the back yard after dark on Holy Thursday and pray a rosary to sort of be in the agony of the garden with Jesus.

Silence from noon to 3 on Good Friday? Thats a pretty tall order for my littles so maybe we will turn off all the lights or something instead.

I am an Oblate at Saint Meinrad Archabbey and they are streaming their Holy Week services. I am going to watch and follow along. I plan to make a holy hour every day as well.

Here, the Parish will stream the Mass and have palms available at drive up location Sunday afternoon.

The Triduum, all of the Liturgies will be streamed live.

We encourage people to wash the feet of others in their household after the Holy Thursday liturgy.

Good Friday we encourage people to venerate a crucifix in their own home during the liturgy.

Easter Vigil, we encourage people to light a candle in their own homes as they watch online.

Our parish is streaming Mass this Sunday and leaving the blessed palms near the doors of church for people to pick up. Our family plans to build a little altar in our front window and paint the window with a Eastery-stained-glass look. We’ve got several parishes in the area that have an outdoor prayer garden, so we plan to do the seven churches thing, but during the day and without touching any kneelers. My husband and I are going to participate in the Easter Vigil, because he is the organist and I’m going to cantor. It’s just going to be us, the priest, the deacon, and two people going to be confirmed and their sponsors, so we’re still under ten people. The Mass is going to be put online for the rest of the parish.

This was a nice idea circulating on facebook for this coming Sunday, Palm Sunday.

Today we tried to make a tomb out of a pie-pan and stuff from the back yard. We are going to try to make a paschal candle tomorrow.

My daughter and I build this altar last night and we read the Passion as a family and sang some hymns.

This morning’s activity. I don’t recommend it. It’s the stickiest I’ve ever been. These few weeks have turned into a wild tour of every questionable thing I ever pinned to Pinterest.

Very nice, @DisorientingSneeze and @Allegra! A blessed Easter to both of you and your families! 🌷

Do you eat them as you pray? I don’t think I’d know what to do with this.

They are sugary decoys. The ones old enough to pray can eat them at the end. The ones who usually run wild actively trying to wreck our prayers can just eat jellybeans and shoosh.

I sure wouldn’t try to eat it as you go. That would be stressful.😆
