OH, HEAVEN FORBID!!

Seriously, I have a friend who is deaf in one ear because he tried that as a kid. He got something stuck in his ear and was afraid to tell his parents, so he tried to use the vacuum cleaner to clear his ear himself.

NEVER get a vacuum cleaner anywhere NEAR your ear! NEVER!!!

This thread is starting to read like a how to go to the er with an embarrassing story. I’m sure the op has figured this out by now. If not they should go to a doctor.

Going deaf in one ear because you didn’t want to admit you had stuck a green bean in your ear and couldn’t get it out is more than embarrassing.

You’re right, though–everyone ought to know that if shaking or irrigation doesn’t get something out of your ear that is stuck in there, you ought to seek medical help with your problem.
