If Adam & Eve had not fallen into Original sin, would they have lived forever in their human bodies?

Greetings:

As I understand it, although I may have been looking out the window during this part of the lecture, human bodies will eventually grow old and fail us, having us die, even if we were without the stain of original sin. However, without original sin, it stands to reason that such human bodies will last much longer. Still, upon death the soul will separate and migrate to heaven.

Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.

I think when God warned Adam & Eve that they would die if they’d eaten the fruit, he was actually talking about both the spiritual death that the unrepented soul experiencies and physical death, but more so to spiritual death. After they had eaten the fruit they didn’t immediately die (physically) in fact, they knew what was right & wrong as the Devil had told them. Certainly Adam was a very old man when he died (about 900 years). The question is this: Did Adam and Eve go to Hell after they died (as a result of their disobedience to God)? Adam certainly did not go to Hell bacause according to Scripture, “Wisdom preserved him that was formed by God, the father of the world…and brought him out of his sin” Wisd.X, 1-2.

Please help.

No, they would not have died. In the state of Original Justice, Adam an Eve possessed one supernatural gift and several preturnatural gifts.

The supernatural gift was grace, which is a participation in the life of God. This is what is required to enter heaven.

One of the preturnatural gifts was bodily immortality. This gift prevented the soul from separating from the body. The body itself originally aged much slower that it does today. In addition, the tree of life would have preserved the integrity of the body from any deterioration.

Another interesting gift that both Adam and Eve possessed was integrity. This gift kept their lower nature (their passions, emotions, etc.) perfectly subordinate to their reason. If it was reasonable for Adam to get angry, for example, he would have been exactly as angry as it was reasonable to be, and for only as long as was reasonable. All of the passions would have been at the service of reason with no rebellion whatsoever. When man disobeyed and rose of against God, God removed this gift which resulted in man’s lower nature (his passions and emotions) rising up against his higher nature (his reason). This was a just punishment for the crime.

Another gift that Adam alone possessed was infused knowledge, by which he knew, without having to learn, all that pertained to God’s law, the natural sciences, and anything else pertaining to this life.

All of these gifts were lost when Adam sinned.

Think about this:

The Eastern Fathers teach that even had Adam and Eve not sinned, the Incarnation still would have taken place, as God loves His creation so much He wishes to be identified with it as closely as possible.

But would Adam and Eve eventually be taken into Heaven?

And how could the current topic be reconciled with evolution?

A belief from some of the Fathers states that Adam and Eve if they had not sinned, they would not have died and would after passing some sort of test, they would have been taken body and soul into heaven. They were in a state of justice and innocence, but they were not perfected as they needed to love God more and to prefer Him to all else first.

I think it all was planed by god to let Jesus die and get to live again to create clean new people and to get all that bad angels (like Satan) out of haven. Why that difficult becaus get loves justice and so he cannot judge this bad angels until they made very bad sins.
And you have to see for god is everything absolutly easy so he could go any way but he took this way!!!
